The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Maschinenbau (Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee), Section Lederherstellungs- und Pelzmaschinen. Amendment of the European Machinery Directive has made it necessary to review the p
、reviously valid standard, EN 13114:2002, in terms of the essential requirements of the new European Machinery Directive, 2006/42/EC. This standard contains specifications meeting the essential requirements set out in Annex I of the “Machinery Directive”, Directive 98/37/EC (valid until 28 December 2
、009), and the “revised Machinery Directive”, Directive 2006/42/EC, which takes effect on 29 December 2009, and which apply to machines that are either first placed on the market or commissioned within the EEA. This standard serves to facilitate proof of compliance with the essential requirements of
、the directives. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive (“presumption of conformity”). 30、2+A1:2009 (E) 5 Introduction !This document is a type C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100. The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and hazardous events are covered are indicated in the scope of this document. When provisions of this type C standard are differen
、t from those which are stated in type A or B standards, the provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards, for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C standard.“ 1 Scope 1.1 This European Standard specifies
、 safety requirements for design, construction, operation, adjustment, setting, cleaning and maintenance of a machine. 1.2 This standard covers the following machines (see annex C and Figures 1 and 2 for typical configurations): a) horizontal rotating vessels; b) inclined rotating vessels. 1.3 This s
、tandard does not apply to machines using substances containing solvent, that would generate fume and/or vapour detrimental to health, or that may lead to fire or explosive atmosphere. 1.4 This standard takes account of intended use, foreseeable misuse, component and systems failure. The machines are
、 for fixed installation. 1.5 !This document is not applicable to the rotating vessels which are manufactured before the date of its publication as EN.“ 1.6 This standard does not establish any requirements for electromagnetic disturbances. NOTE Directive 94/9/EC concerning equipment and protective s
、ystems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres can be applicable to the type of machine or equipment covered by this European Standard. The present standard does not necessarily comply with Directive 94/9/EC. Additional safety requirements in a future revision of this standard can be n
