This document (EN 16678:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 58 “Safety and control devices for burners and appliances b

7、urning gaseous or liquid fuels” (Secretariat: BSI, United Kingdom). This standard contains specifications giving technical detail to the essential requirements set out in Annex I of the “Gas Appliances Directive”, Directive 200

9、9/142/EC (see also Annex ZA) and in Annex I of the “Pressure Equipment Directive”, Directive 97/23/EC (see also Annex ZB). Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compli

10、ance (“presumption of conformity”) with the requirements of Annex I of the “Gas Appliances Directive”, Directive 2009/142/EC and Annex I of the “Pressure Equipment Directive”, Directive 97/23/EC. Directive 2009/142/EC has been implemented in Germany by the Siebte Verordnung zum Gerte- und Produktsic

11、herheitsgesetz (GPSG) (Seventh Ordinance to the German Equipment and Product Safety Act). 45、ies the safety, design, construction and performance requirements and testing for automatic shut-off valves with or without modulating control functions (hereafter referred to as valves) for burners and appliances burning one or more gaseous fuels according to EN 437:2003+A1:2009. This European Stan

46、dard is applicable to valves with declared maximum inlet pressures of more than 500 kPa (5 bar) and up to and including 6 300 kPa (63 bar). This European Standard is applicable to electrically operated valves and to valves actuated by fluids including the pilot valves for these fluids if actuated el

47、ectrically and including release valves, but not to any external electrical devices for switching the actuating energy; automatic shut-off valves where the flow rate is controlled by external electrical signals proportional to the applied signal. This European Standard is not applicable to valves sp

48、ecifically designed for use in transmission and distribution networks.
