2、1. SCOPE. This document covers medium size mens gloves.2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS2.1 Description. The gloves will utilize the Gunn pattern, witha leather palm and knitted wristlet.2.2 Material.2.2.1 Leather. The leather for the palm, the front of fingers,the front and back of the thumb, the back of
3、the finger tips andprotective welt for seam joining front of fingers (fourchettes)to the palm will be chrome tanned, flesh split from cattlehidebends. Middle splits, head splits, belly splits and shouldersplits will not be used. All leather parts, except the welt,shall be 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 ounces thick
4、 when tested as specified inASTM-D-1814. (Note: One ounce is equivalent to 1/64 inch). The back of th
6、e glove will be a napped cottoncanton flannel, minimum weight 7.0 ounces per square yard whentested as specified in ASTM-D-3776, with the napped surfacefacing the hand. The palm, front of the fingers, and front ofthe thumb will be lined with cotton flannel, minimum weight 5.0ounces per square yard w
7、hen tested as specified in ASTM-D-3776.The napped surface of the lining will face the hand. The knittedcotton wristlet will bea1by1ribknit seamless tubingweighing from 9 to 15 yards per pound when tested as specified inASTM-D-3776, 2-3/4 inches wide at the open end, and a minimum of2-1/2 inches long
8、 from the seam attachment.2.3 Dimensions. The finished gloves will conform to themeasurements specified below. Each item will be individually bar-coded with apaper tag for personal clothing items. The paper tag will bestandard bleached sulfate havi
11、ng a basis weight of 100 pounds.The paper used for the tags will have a smooth finish to acceptthermal transfer and direct printing. The tags will have a holeand will be attached to each item by a fastener, clearly legibleand readable by a scanner. The bar coding element will be a 13digit national s
12、tock number (NSN). 14、e cycle costs.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Product conformance. The products provided will meet thesalient characteristics of this commercial item description andwill conform to the producers own drawings, specifications,standards, and quality assurance practices. The Governmentreserves the ri
15、ght to require proof of such conformance.4.2 Examination. Each glove will be inspected for visual anddimensional attributes in accordance with ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 -Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes,published by the American Society for Quality Control. The lotsize will be expres
16、sed in units of one glove. The sample unitwill be one glove and the selection will be by pairs.4.2.1 Visual examination. Each glove will be examined for thedefects listed below:Any hole, cut, or tear; color not as specified; any part shaded;any spot or stain (outside); raw edges, open seams, thread
17、endsnot removed, or loose tension resulting in loose seams; anymaterial defects, distorted parts or poor workmanship; anycomponent part omitted; label missing, incorrect, or illegible;measurement of item not as specified; bar code omitted or notreadable by scanner; human-readable interpretation (HRI
18、) omittedor illegible; bar code not visible on folded, packaged item; barcode causes damage to the item; any items not packaged inaccordance with the contract or purchase order.
