2、nistration has authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for MIL-C-28777/5 for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. 1.1 Smpe. This commercial item description covers the requbements for a cable assembly, (type I), electronic test equipment, (2 poles, 3 wires, 125 volts, 13 a
3、mperes, 50 or 60 Hertz), grounding plug connector, also commonly known as a 125 volt power supply cord. 1.2 Intended use . .This cable assembly is to be used with equipment designed specifically for military use. 2. SALIENT CHARACTEFUSTICS. 2.1 Requirements . The cable assembly shall provide for the
4、 transmission of 125 volt, 13 ampere, 50 or 60 hertz ac power and shall be configured in accordance with figure 1. The cable shal meet the requirements of UL 62 for a class 43, AWG 16, SJT cable rated at 60C (140F). Unless otherwise specified (see 6.1), the cable shall be unsliielded. The cable jack
5、et shall be marked in accordance with section 71 of UL 62. The plug connector shall be molded to the jacket in accordance with section 56 of .UL 817 and shall conform to NEMA WD-1 and figure 5-15 of NEMA WD-6. The equipment end of the cable wires shall be stripped of the cable jacket not less than 6
6、9.85 mm (2-3/4 in.) and not greater than 82.55 mm (3-1/4 in.). Unless otherwise specified (see 6.1), the individual wires shall be stripped of 12.7 mm (1/2 in.) of insulation and shall be solder tinned. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.1), the length of the cord shall not be less than 2,360 mm (93
7、in.) and not greater than 3,000 mm (118 in.).
