This commercial item description (CID) covers a petroleum-base fluid for use as asuspension vehicle while performing magnetic particle nondestructive inspection procedures.2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS2.1 General . The magnetic particle suspensi
4、on fluid characteristics shall conform to all therequirements of Type 1 product specified in AMS 2641, Vehicle, Magnetic Particle Inspection(Petroleum Based). In addition, the suspension fluid when tested in accordance with test methodsspecified in AMS 2641, shall conform to the adjusted technical r
5、equirements as follows:2.1.1 Fluorescence . The fluid fluorescence shall not exceed that of a 1 part per million (ppm) byweight reference standard solution.2.1.2 Particulate matter . The particulate matter in the fluid shall not exceed 0.5 milligram perliter (mg/L).2.1.3 Total acid number . The flui
6、d total acid number shall not exceed 0.015 mg of potassiumhydroxide (KOH) per gram.2.1.4 Color . The fluid color shall not be darker than 1.0 ASTM Color when tested in accordancewith ASTM D1500, Standard Test Method for ASTM Color of Petroleum Products (ASTMColor Scale).Provided by IHSNot for Resale

Manufacturers shall prepare and submit a material safety datasheet (MSDS) in accordance with FED-STD-313 and meeting the Code of Federal Regulationsrequirements o
8、f 29 CFR 1910.1200.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Product conformance . The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of thiscommercial item description, shall conform to the producers own drawings, specifications,standards, and quality assurance practices, and shall be the same p
9、roduct offered for sale in thecommercial market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.5. PACKAGING5.1 Preservation, packing, and marking . For acquisition purposes, the magnetic particlesuspension vehicle fluid shall be preserved, packed, and marked as specified in
