1、 A-A-59853 11 January, 2010 COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION PICK, CHOCK The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description, for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This commercial item description covers the requirements for chock picks which are used to remove ro

2、ck anchors from the rock. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The chock pick will be furnished in one type and size. 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. The chock pick shall be constructed of a durable, rigid, material that can withstand the rigors of nudging and hooking lodged rock protection without excessive bending and

3、shall provide ease of use with typical combat gloves and be as lightweight as possible, while meeting the standards in this description. The chock pick shall have an attachment point for carabiners that will fit the range of carabiners in A-A-59836. The chock pick shall include a feature for pushing

4、 or pulling protection, clearing cracks of debris, and manipulating the cables and triggers of rock protection. 3.1 Color. The chock pick shall be provided in a low reflectance, matte finish and provide low contrast with typical use terrain unless otherwise specified in the solicitation or contract

5、order (see 7.2). 3.2 Materials. The chock pick shall be constructed of 4130 chrome moly or equal. The finished chock pick shall conform to the quality of product established by this document. The occurrence of defects shall not exceed the contractors own quality assurance standards and th

8、e quality assurance standards defined in the technical data in the solicitation and/or contract. 3.4 Service life. The chock pick shall have no unexpected material or component failures during a continuous one-year cycle. The chock pick shall have no unexpected material or component failures during

9、periodic use over a five year period. 3.5 Labels/barcoding/instruction slip. If applicable, all labeling, barcoding and instruction slip requirements shall be as specified in the solicitation or contract (see 7.2). 3.5.1 Labels. Each pick chock shall have identification label Class 5 conforming to T

10、ype VI of MIL-DTL-32075. The color of the label shall be white. The following information shall be included in the printing for the identification label for the pick chock. PICK, CHOCK NSN: XXXX-XX-XXX-XXXX The following instruction information shall be supplied: a. the name or trademark of the manu

11、facturer, importer or supplier b. the meaning of any markings on the product c. the use of the product d. how to choose other components for use in the system e. how to maintain and service the product f. the lifespan of the product or how to assess it g. the effects of chemical reagents and tempera

12、ture on the product h. the effects of storage and aging i. identification of the model, if more than one model is available 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federa

13、l Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4.1 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible, provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements and p

14、romotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance pr

The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5.2 Visual examination. Each chock pi

16、ck shall be examined for the following defects as listed in Table I. TABLE I.
