SCOPE. This Commercial Item Description (CID) covers the r
2、equirements for a kit that replaces the belay devices that are issued in the Army Mountaineering Kits (AMKs); the High Angle Mountaineering Kit (HAMK) (A-A-59869) and the Assault Climber Team Kit (ACTK) (A-A-59873). 2. CLASSIFICATION. The Belay Device, Mountaineering Replacement Kits will be furnish
3、ed as two kits. 2.1 Types: Type I HAMK Belay Device, Mountaineering Replacement Kit Type II ACTK Belay Device, Mountaineering Replacement Kit 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. Individual item dimensions will be in accordance with drawings and specification requirements specified in the applicable CID document (see Table I) unless item is a manufacturers part number/cage code then, in which manufacturers curr
7、ent specifications apply. 3.2 Color. Individual item colors will be in accordance with applicable specifications as specified in Table I. 3.3 End item testing. Individual item test standards will be in accordance with their related International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation Standards, wher
8、e applicable. 3.4 Materials. Individual item materials will be in accordance with applicable specifications as specified in Table I. 3.5 Workmanship. The Belay Device, Mountaineering Replacement Kits shall conform to the quality of product established by this document. The occurrence of defects shal
9、l not exceed the contractors own quality assurance standards and the quality assurance standards defined in the technical data in the solicitation and/or contract. 3.6 Service life. The Belay Device, Mountaineering Replacement Kits shall have no unexpected material or component failures during a con
10、tinuous one-year cycle. The Belay Device, Mountaineering Replacement Kits shall have no unexpected material or component failures during periodic use over a five year period. 3.7 Labels/barcoding/instruction slip. If applicable, all labeling, barcoding and instruction slip requirements shall be as s
11、pecified in the solicitation or contract (see 7.2). 3.7.1 Labels. Each Belay Device, Mountaineering, Replacement Kit shall have identification label Class 5 conforming to Type VI of MIL-DTL-32075. The color of the label shall be white. The following information shall be included in the printing for
12、the identification label: BELAY DEVICE, MOUNTAINEERING REPLACEMENT KIT NSN: XXXX-XX-XXX-XXXX (Example) The following instruction information shall be supplied: a. The name or trademark of the manufacturer, importer or supplier b. The meaning of any marking on the product c. The use of the product d.

The effects of chemical reagents and temperature on the product h. The effects of storing and aging i. Identification of the model, if more than one

The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the F
15、ederal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4.1 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible, provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements
16、and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assuran
17、ce practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5.2 End item examination.
