This accessory adapter mates with MIL-DTL-83538/4. Part or Ide
7、ntifying Number (PIN) example: M83538/9 -09 Specification sheet number Accessory shell size QUALIFICATION: This adapter shall be in accordance with the requirements of MIL-DTL-83538. The following details and exceptions shall apply: Group A: Visual and mechanical examination (100% inspection). Group
8、 B: Not Applicable. Qualification and group C: Two test samples consisting of two MIL-DTL-83538/9 adapters and two MIL-DTL-83538/4 mating connectors shall be required for stand alone qualification. However, if the manufacturer is in the process of qualifying MIL-DTL-83538/4, then one test sample is
9、required. Testing shall be performed in the following sequence: Visual and mechanical examination. Salt spray followed by accessory thread strength. Manufacturers that are qualifying this adapter cover as a stand alone accessory shall conduct salt spray, accessory thread strength and post test exami
10、nation in accordance with MIL-DTL-83538. For initial qualification, manufacturers that are qualifying MIL-DTL-83538/4 receptacles concurrently with MIL-DTL-83538/9 adapter covers shall supply an adapter and connector pair and perform testing in accordance with the qualification requirements and test
11、 sequence of MIL-DTL-83538/4. For group C, twenty-four month periodic testing, one MIL-DTL-83538/9 adapter and one MIL-DTL-83538/4 receptacle shall be required. Testing shall consist of visual and mechanical, salt spray, accessory thread strength and post test examination. Changes from the previous
