This European Standard shall be given the status of a nationai standa

14、rd, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 1998, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 1998. During the preparation of this European Standard, CENiIY= 29WG 1 considered general purpose trolleys existing on the

23、lleys, fitted or not fitted with a chiid carrying facilia for use by customers of self service stores to carry This European Standard applies to mually driven trolleys that are not intended for use on passenger conveyors. Page 3 EN 1929-k1998 3 Dethlitions For the purposes of this European Standard, the following definitions apply 3.1 type A trolley trolley consisting of a basket to carry goods, a base

25、equipped with castors, and a handle (see Figure 1) NOTE Qpe A trolleys do not have a child carrying fadi. 31、n any exposed or accessible edges, points or burrs, sharp enough to inflict a wound or abrasion. hlleys with a child canrying facility shall not contain any part that may pinch, cut or injure the child. When accessories are mounted on the trolley, the trolley and accessories assembly shall conform t

32、o this European Standard. Any part of the trolley that is essentiai for its safe operation shail not be broken or lose its functionality when a force of 90 N is applied in any direction to that Part. The chiid carrying facility shall be inside the basket. 4.1.2 Protection qfpersons against impact Th

33、e front of the base of the trolley shall have a radius of at least5mm (see 6.9) to minimize risk of injury to users or other persons near the trolley in normal use. The trolley shall contain no prominent parts that may cause iqjury to persons in normal use. 4.1.3 Materials of manrCfacture and coatin

34、gs The materials of manufacture and coatings of the basket and child carrying facility shall be easy to clean and shall not afect the hygiene requirements of food in the basket. 4.2 Construction 4.2.1 Geometrical limits of the trolleu 4.2.1.1 Maxmum trolley width The troiley width shall not exceed 6

35、50 m, including accessories, with the wheels aligned in the direction of motion. 4.2.1.2 Handie height The grip area shall be located at a height of between 850 m and 1150 mm hm the floor 4.2.1.3 Base The free space between the lowest point of the base andthefloorshailbenotlessthan100mm. 4.2.1.4 Leg

36、 room No fixed or mobile part of the trolley shall be placed, under the handle, in the space defined by the following limits (see Figure 4): (e Figure 4). - between the rear wheels, - the floor; - the vertical plane beneath the handle; - a piane inched at minimum 5“ into the troilex tangent to the h

The diameter of the wheels shall be not less than 75 mm. Th

38、e wheels shall be equipped with threadwds or other similar devices. Each castor shall have the same load capacity The load capacity shd be at least 25 % of the total maximum load (weight of trolley plus trolley load). 4.3 Base strength Under a separation force of 500 N, the following dimensions (see

39、 Figure 5) shail not change by more than 5 mm (see 6.6): - track dimension DI, measured at the front wheel attachment location; - track dimension D2, measured at the rear wheel attachment location; - wheel base dimension 03, measured between the front wheel and the rear wheel attachment points. 40、re 6 - Base strength O BSI 1998 Page 6 EN 1929-1:1998 4.4 Basket volume The trolley volume (see 3.9) and the calculated basket volume (see 3.10) shali not differ by more than k5 96 There sha be no maximum size restxiction on basket volume provided the trolley conforms to cause 6. 4.6 Basket strength

41、 Under the shock effect of a 10 kg mass falluig from a height of 1 m, the front and sides of the basket shall not show a permanent defonnation of greater than 40 mm (see 6.6). No part of the troiley, including welds, shall be broken during strengh testing. 4.6 Equipment for transport of a child (typ

42、e B trolley) 4.6.1 Geometrical characteristics The ange between the seat and the back rest shall be between 90“ and 120“. 4.6.2 Seat The seat surface shall be smooth and continuous. The seat dimensions in the position of use (see Figure 6) shall be: - a minimum of 240mm in width, - a minimum of 130

43、mm in depth, measured between the plane of the flap and the plane of the back rest Figure 6 - Seat 4.6.3 Back rest The back rest dimensions (see Figure 7) shall be: - a minimum of 200 mm in height; - a minimum of 300 mm in widh. If the back rest support includes openings, the smaller dimensions of t

44、he openings shall be a maximum of 60 mm. Figure 7 - Back rest 4.6.4 Leg passages The support fap shall contain two passages for a childs legs (see Figure S), of the following dimensions each - a minimum of 110 mm in height; - a minimum of 110 mm in width. The two leg passages sha be separated by a s

45、eparator of between 20 mm and 40 mm in width. Figure 8 - Leg passages O BSI 1998 4.7 Trolley load 4.7.1 lhlleg test load The trolley test load for srength testing (see 6.3) shall be 1,5 times the basket nominal load (see 3.11). 4.7.2 Strength under load When the trolley is loaded with the test load

46、defined in 4.7.1, the troliey shall show no permanent deformation of greater than 7 mm to dimensions A and B (see Figure 9), and shall maintain all its operating characteristics (see 6.3). 47、ndurance After completing the endurance test specified in 6.7 - there shall be no broken trolley elements or component assemblies; - the longitudinal force required to push the trolley, as measured in accordance with 6.8, shall be not more than 78 N - the wheel diameter shall be not less than 90 % o

48、f the initial diameter. 4.8 Stability The trolley shall be stable in the longitudinal and transverse direction (see 6.4). 4.9 Maximum load for transport of a child The maximum load for the canying facility, 15 kg, shall be clearly indicated on the trolley 4.10 Maximm force required for setting a tro

49、lley in motion The maximum force required for setting a trolley in motion (see 6.8) shall be 65 N. 4.11 Corrosion resistance Ail metal surfaces shall be protected against corrosion (see 6.11). 5 %sts 6.1 General AU tests shall be carried out on new and complete trolleys. 6.2 Basket volume measurement NOTE For the following volume measurement, the basket is assumed to a truncated prism with: - the upper and lower edges of the front and rear sides parallel; - connection radii less than 20 mm. - the inside surfaces of the basket; - the plane formed by
