NOTE Stainlesssteelorglassisrecommended.Glassshouldnotbeusedwithstronglybasicsolutions.Thevolumeofthe exposuretankshouldbeatleast50mlforeachgramofmassofspecimen.Ifsuffic
28、ientlylargeexposuretanksarenotpossible , orifitissuspectedthattraceamountsofchemicalsmaybedepletedfromtheliquidduringtheexposure,smallertanksmaybe usedprovidedthattheimmersionliquidisreplacedwithfreshsolutionaftereachtestperiod. 5.2 Lidforsealingtheexposuretank Thesealinglidshallbefabricatedfromache

Tomaintainambientatmosphericpressureinthetankthereshallbeamethodforallowinggaspressurereliefwhile minimizingchangesinthechemicalcompositionofthetestsolution,e.g.arefluxcondenseropentotheairora pressurereliefvalve.Thepurposeofthisfeatureistopreventpressurebuildupintheexposur
30、etankfromgases generatedbychemicalreactionsorbiologicalactivity.
