However, attention is drawn to the fact that during the development of this European Standard, the UK committee voted against its approval as a European Standard.The reason for this negative vote was
3、 that clause 6.1.2.3, and its associated table, either does not specify a factor for the relationship between the minimum tensile strength and the allowable stress in the main and general pressure bearing parts or it specifies a factor of 3:1. It has been customary in the UK (and it is consistent wi
4、th ISO 15348 and EJMA together with its ANSI and ASME Codes) to use a minimum factor of safety of 4:1.The start and finish of text introduced or altered by amendment is indicated in the text by tags.
