It supersedes BS EN 14917:2009, w

2、hich is withdrawnBSI, as a member of CEN, is obliged to publish EN 14917:2009 as a British Standard. However, attention is drawn to the fact that during the development of this European Standard, the UK committee voted against its approval as a European Standard.The reason for this negative vote was

3、 that clause 6.1.2.3, and its associated table, either does not specify a factor for the relationship between the minimum tensile strength and the allowable stress in the main and general pressure bearing parts or it specifies a factor of 3:1. It has been customary in the UK (and it is consistent wi

4、th ISO 15348 and EJMA together with its ANSI and ASME Codes) to use a minimum factor of safety of 4:1.The start and finish of text introduced or altered by amendment is indicated in the text by tags. Tags indicating changes to CEN text carry the number of the CEN amendment. For example, text altered
