26、ducer between a guided wave (e.g. coaxial cable) and a free space wave, or vice versa. It can be used either to emit or to receive a radio signal. In the present standard, if not mentioned, the term antenna is used only for emitting antenna(s)3.2 average emittedpowerthe average emitted power is thet

Depending upon the frequency of the field,thephysical quantitiesused to specify these restrictions are current density (J), specific absorptionrate (SAR) and power density ( S) 3.5 electric field strength ( E ) the magnitude of a field vector at a point that represents the f orc

31、e (F ) on a small test charge ( q ) divided by the charge E = FqElectric field strength is expressed in unitsof volt per meter (V/m)3.6 magneticfield strength (H) the magnitude of a field vectorin a point that results in a force ( F ) on a charge q movingwiththe velocity vF = q ( v H )The magneticfi

32、eld strength is expressed in units of amperes per meter(A/m)3.7 power densitythe radiant power incident perpendicular to a surf ace, divided by the area of the surface. The power density is expressed in units of watt persquaremeter (W/m)3.8 reference levelreference levels are provided for the purpos

33、e of comparison with exposure quantities in air.Respect of the reference levels will ensure respect of the basic restriction. In the frequencyrange 110 MHz to 40GHz the reference levels are expressed as electric field strength, magneticfield strength and power density values4 Exposure limits The rel

34、evant limitsfor general public exposurespecified in the Council Recommendation1999/519/EC as Basic Restrictions or Reference Levels as well as conditions forsimultaneousexposure to multiple frequency fields shall apply forthe purpose of this standard.5 Compliance assessmentthe productIn countries in

35、 which the objective of this standard is embedded in a regulatory procedure for site certification, building permit or operation approval, e.g. in Germany, Italy or Switzerland, the limit values stipulated by this regulation shall be used. !“In countries in which the objective of this standard is em

36、bedded in a regulatory procedure for sitecertification, building permit or operation approval, e.g. in Germany, Italy or Switzerland, thecompliance assessment shall follow the requirements of this regulation, else when!“BS EN 50401:2006+A1:2011 EN 50401:2006+A1:2011 (E)is put into service i n its op

37、erational environment and operated in acc ordance wi th the manufacturers specification, it fulfils the requirements of this standard if the general public is not able to freely reach (because of access restrictions or because of the site configuration) any place in the vicinity of the emitting base

38、 station antenna(s) where the total exposure to emissions in the frequency range 100 kHz to 40 GHz may exceed the limits defined in Clause 4.- 6 -The product is deemed to comply withoutexposure assessment if the maximum average emittedpower for each antennaof theproduct is less than or equal to250 m

39、W, the maximum average emittedpower for each antennaof theproduct is less than or equal to1 W and the antenna(s) are in stalled according to the instructions providedby themanufacturerand suchthat the lowest radiating part of the antenna is at a height greaterthan or equal to 2mabove the general pub

40、lic walkway that gives general public access tothe volume within 2 mof the products antenna, otherwise, exposure shall be as sessed according toEN 50400 where the general public hasaccess and where the exposure resultingfromthe products RF emission is higher than 0,05 ofClause 4 limits. The assessme

41、nt results shall be compared directly to the exposure limits. 6 Documentation 1) a detailed description of the configuration of the base station in its operational environment(e.g. antenna(s) characteristics, feeders, connectors, combiners),2) all the information, methods and theiruncertainty usedto

42、determine exposure levels for the general public according to EN50400,3) general public access restrictions if any.The documentation may cover severalbase stationswith similar technical specifications and environmental conditions. If, in accordanceto Clause 5, the product whenput intoservice isdeeme

43、d to comply without exposure assessment, then the facts and conditions on which this classificationis based(according to the bullet pointsin Clause 5) shall be stated by the manufacturerin the userinstructions. No additional documentation is required inthese cases.The compliance documentation shall
