26、ERS Part 2: Particular requirements Section 1: Lampholders S14 1 General 1.1 Scope This section of IEC 838-2 applies tolampholders S14 intended forbuilding-in as well as forindependent lampholdersfor use with linear incandescent lamps for general lighting service (GLS). Independent lampholders are a

27、lso tested as luminaires.1.2 Normative referencesSee 1.2 of IEC 838-1. 2 Definitions For the purpose of thissection of IEC 838-2, the definitions of IEC 838-1 aswell as thefollowing definitions apply.2.1independent lampholder : lampholder so designed that it can bemounted separatelyfrom a Iuminaire,

28、 while at the same timeproviding all the necessary protection according toits classification and marking.2.2switched lampholder: lampholderprovidedwith an integral switch to control the supplyto the lamp. 3 General requirement Therequirements of clause 3 ofIEC 838-1 apply with the following addition

29、.3.1 Independentlampholders,not specificallyintended for building-in, shall comply with the requirements of the following clauses of IEC 598-1 where these requirements are notcovered by the requirements of thisstandard.Clause 2- ClassificationClause 3 -Marking Clause 4 -Construction (as appropriate)

30、Clause 8-Protection against electric shockClause 9-Resistance to dust, solid objects and moistureClause 10 - Insulation resistance and electric strength (for class II)Subclauses 12.4 and 12.5 - Thermaltests.4EN 60838-2-1:19964 General conditions for tests Therequirements of clause 4 ofIEC 838-1 appl

Add to subclause 4.3: 13 pairs of matching holders intended for lineardouble- capped lamps (for switchedlampholders only) 13 specimens intended for single-capped lamps (for switched lampholderson ly).Afterthe second note, add the following new sentence:3 pairs or thre

32、e specimens:clause 12 ofIEC 838-2-1;NOTE For testing of independent lampholders, not specifically intended for building-in, separateadditionalspecimens are required (see clause 3).5 Standard ratings 5.1 Standard rated voltage is: 250 V.5.2 Standard rated current is:1A.6 Classification The classifica

33、tion of clause 5of IEC 838-1 applieswith the following additions: Add to subclause 5.1: independent lampholders.Add anew subclause 5.3:5.3 According totype: switched lampholders, provided with an integral switch tocontrol the supply to the lamp; non-switched lampholders.7 Marking Therequirements of

34、clause 6 ofIEC 838-1 apply.8 Protection against electric shock Therequirements of clause 7 ofIEC 838-1 apply with the following exception.For lampholders S14,the requirements in the first paragraph of 7.1 apply with the appropriate lampinserted,during insertion or removal of the lamp. NOTE Lampholde

35、rs S14s are not considered as being lampholders for double-ended lamps in the meaning of 7.2.5EN 60838-2-1:19969 TerminalsTherequirements of clause 8 ofIEC 838-1 apply with the following additions.9.1 Lampholders, other than those provided with connecting leads (non-rewireable tai ls),shall beprovid

36、ed with terminals which allow connection of conductors having the followingnominal cross-sectionalareas:0,5 mm to 1,5 mm for lampholdersS14. 9.2 Lampholders with screw-type terminalsshall comply withsection 14 ofIEC 598-1 withthe followingexception.Terminals of the pillar type shall have dimensions

37、not less than those shown forlampholdersE14 in table 4 and 10.5 of IEC 238.Screw-type terminals shall have dimensions not less than those shown forlampholders E14 intable 5 and 10.6 of IEC 238.10 Provision for earthingTherequirements of clause 9 ofIEC 838-1 apply.11 Construction Therequirements of c

38、lause 10 of IEC 838-1 apply with the following additions.11.1 Lampholders S14 provided with a cord anchorageshall comply with the requirements of5.2.10 ofIEC 598-1.11.2 Where provision for cable entry/entriesismade on the accessible external surface ofan independent lampholder,they shall allow the i

39、ntroduction of cable covering, conduitortrunking etc., as appropriate, so asto afford mechanical protection at least for a distance of1 mm measured from the accessible external surface of the lampholder. Compliance is checked by measurement. 12 Switched lampholders12.1 Switches are allowed only in o

40、rdinary lampholders. Compliance is checked by inspection.12.2 Switches used for protection against accidental contact shall be provided with a minimum clearance of 1,7 mm between theopen contacts at different potentials.Compliance is checked by inspection.12.3 Thelampholder shall be so constructed t

41、hat accidental contact between movingpartsof the switchand the supply conductors isprevented.Compliance is checked by a manual test.6EN 60838-2-1:199612.4 The switch operating mem ber shall be effectively insulated from live parts and, ifbroken ordamaged,shall not expose live parts.Compliance is che

42、cked by inspection and by the tests of 12.5.12.5 Switches in lampholders S14 shall be capable of making and breaking a loadcomprising a linearincande scentlamp forgeneral lighting service (GLS).Compliance is checked by the following test.Switches in lampholders S14 without temperature marking shall

43、be tested for an operatingtemperature of 60 C. Switchesinlampholders S14 withtemperature marking shall be tested for operating temperatures equal to the temperature marking minus 20 C.The switchis tested with a.c. (cos = 0,6 0,05) at 1,1 times rated voltage and 1,25 timesrated current. The switch sh

44、all be operated in a normal manner for200 switchmovements atarate of 30 movements per minute at regular intervals.The switch is then tested with a.c. (cos = 1) at rated voltage and current. The switch shallbe operated in a normal manner for20 000 switch mov ements at a rate of 30 movements perminute

45、 at regular intervals.NOTE This test is based on the requirements of IEC 328. Its replacement by the corresponding test of IEC 1058-1is under consideration.Switcheswhich onlyhave the functionto provide protection against electric shock during insertion or removal of the lamp shall beoperatedin a nor

46、mal manner for 1 000 switchmovements at a rate of 30movements per minute.At the conclusion of the test, the lampholder shall withstand the tests specified in subclause11.2 ofIEC 838-1for insulation resistance and electric strength and shall be in satisfactoryworking order.13 Moisture resistance, ins

47、ulation resistance and electric strength The requirements ofclause 11 ofIEC 838-1 apply. 14 MechanicalstrengthThe requirements ofclause 12 ofIEC 838-1 apply. 15 Screws, current-carrying parts and connections The requirements ofclause 13 ofIEC 838-1 apply. 16 Creepage distances and clearances Therequ

48、irements of clause 14 of IEC 838-1 apply with the following additions.16.1 Compliance is checked by takingintoaccount the maximum contact dimensions of the cap.7EN 60838-2-1:199616.2 The clearance between live parts of the lampholder and accessible metal partsof thecap shall not be less than1,5 mm.1
