13、ons for high-quality recording and playback with the 8 mm video system. This part is applicable to both 525 line-60 field and 625 line-50 field TV signals. 1.2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of th

A reference tape has been defined for measurements of

17、the recording characteristics of the high-band 8 mm tapes. This reference tape is an MP tape numbered RSE-5001 specified in IEC 1105. NOTE - See annex A for details of the RSE-5001. 2.2 All measurements are to be made in comparison with the reference tape described in 2.1, with the reference values

18、taken as O dB. Video characteristics of the high-band tape I EC page 71 3404583 00828b8 788 Page 5 EN 60843-3 : 1993 2.2.1 RF optimum recording current The RF optimum recording current shall be O f 1 dB at 7 MHz for MP tape and 1 dB f 1 dB at 7 MHz for ME tape. 2.2.2 RF output level The RFoutput lev

19、el shall be: for luminance: greater than 3 dB at 7 MHz for high-band MP tape; greater than 5 dB at 7 MHz for high-band ME tape; for chrominance: greater than O at 0,75 MHz for high-band MP tape; greater than -1 dB at 0.75 MHz for high-band ME tape. 2.2.3 RF frequency response D The RF frequency resp

20、onse D shall be greater than O. NOTE - The playback output levels of the 7 MHz and 10 MHz signals recorded at the RF reference recording current of the respective frequencies should be measured. The RF frequency response D is defined as follows: where d is the relative value in decibels of the playb

21、ack output level of the 10 MHt signal to that of the 7 MHr signal for the tape to be tested and where do is the same for the reference tape. 2.2.4 Carrier-to-noise ratio The carrier-to-noise ratio shall be: for luminance: greater than 2 dB at 7 MHz for high-band MP tape; greater than 5 dB at 7 MHz f

Due to the adoption of DC clipping, the clipping levels qhown below are determined irres

28、pective of the frequency characteristics of the emphasized signal. White clipping level: Dark clipping level: (The sync tip to peak white level is 100 %.) 220 % measured from sync tip. 90 % measured from sync tip.
