21、ed matter which is contained in a United States patent assigned to the manufacturer. The International Electrotechnical Commission calls attention to the fact that certain inter- face dimensions and features of the BMA connector are the subject of the United States patent no. 4,426,127 now issued an

22、d owned by MA-Com Omni Spectra, Inc. The IEC takes no position with respect to patent validity. 25、f. connectors 1 Scope Series BMA connectors have a characteristic impedance of 50 Sl and are normally used for blind-entry low-power microwave applications in conjunction with flexible and semi-rigid cables having a dielectric diameter of up to 3.00 mm. The connectors are usable up to a frequency of

26、 at least 18 GHz. This sectional specification provides information and rules for the preparation of detall specifications for series BMA r.f. connectors together with the pro forma blank detall specification (BDS). It also prescribes mating face dimensions for general purpose connectors, dimensiona

27、l details of standard test connectors grade O. gauging information and tests selected from QC 220000 (IEC 1169-1) applicable to all detail specifications relating to series BMA connectors. This specification indicates recommended performance characteristics to be considered when writing a detail spe

42、 CorJneCtor radial misalignment and axial misalignment When designing the mounting arrangements for series BMA connectors, it is essential that the disposition of Individual pairs of connectors and their engagement is controlled within the following general limiting conditions. General requirements

43、for connector mounting in modules and on panels 2.4.1.1 Radial misalignment nie radial misalignment between engaging connectors refers to the concentricity error be- tween diameter g of the plug and diameter f of the socket at the beginning and during the engagement (see 2.1 for dimensions g and fof

44、 the plug and socket. A rigidly mounted plug and socket shall accept a radiai misalignment within 1 I 0 0.190 mm (0,0075 in) I at the beginning and during the engagement. A rigidly mounted plug and float-mounted sacket shall accept a radial misalignment within 1 I 0 1,016 mm (0.040 in) I at the begi

45、nning of the engagement. During the engagement, the floating connector shall be able to align itself with the rigidly mounted connector within I Q I 0 0,1go mm (0,0075 in) I 2.4.1.2 Axial misalignment a) Rigidly mounted plug and socket To maintain the electrical and environmental performance, the co

46、nnector reference planes should be within 0,015 in (038 mm). Further separation up to 0,030 in (0,76 mm) will degrade electrical performance and negate the environmental performance. b) Rigidly mounted plug and float-mounted socket The float mounting allows a total of 0,060 in (1,52 mm) axial travel

The mounting arrangements should, however, ensure a minimum length of travel of 0,010 in (0,26 mm) (0,030 in (0,76 mm) preferred to ensure that full length of engagement is maintained under operational conditions. 2.4.2 Specific connector mounting details In addition to details of the panel cut-ou
