SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a jute padding with a glazed back. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used

3、as an underlay in carpet assemblies, and in the construction of seat backs. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys

4、 Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.3 WEIGHT, range, oz/yd2(kg/m2) (FLTM BN 6-1) ESB-M17H24-B 38 - 42 (1.288 - 1.424) 3.4 THICKNESS, range, in (mm) (FLTM BN 14-2) ESB-M17H24-B 5/16 +/- 1/16 (8 +/- 2) 3.5 GLAZE COATING The material shall have a suitable compound unifor

5、mly roll coated on the back and properly dried by heated rolls to form a smooth skin strong enough to maintain shape and prevent deformation of pattern. 3.5 OBJECTIONABLE CONTAMINANTS (FLTM AN 1-3, Method “A“ for padding, Method “B“ for assemblies) The material shall be free from residual asphalt an

6、d other contaminants which might cause padding to trim cover material contact stains or sewline stains. There shall be no evidence of staining. 7、AMMABILITY REQUIREMENT 3.6.1 Flammability In order to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302, the materials, portions of components, and composites shall not burn, or transmit a flame across its surface, at a rate of more than 4 in (101 m) per min. To demonstrate compliance, the s

8、ample size and method of testing shall be in accordance with FLTM BN 024-02. 3.6.2 Performance - Environmental Aging All materials, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have not been treated, modified or reformulated and exceed a max burn rate of 3.0 in (76 mm) p

9、er min as specified by the Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 024-02, must be evaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardant properties per ESB-M25P3-A according to the accelerated environmental aging requirements applicable to the basic material category of this particular specifi

10、cation. Any material, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have been treated, modified or reformulated to conform to Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 024-02, regardless of max burn rate, must be evaluated for both permanency of materials flame retardant

11、properties and changes in mechanical, chemical and physical properties per ESB-M25P3-A applicable to the basic materials category of this particular specification. 3.6.3 Flammability Test Program Materials, portions of components, and composites governed by this specification must also comply with t

12、he requirements of ES-E97B-11014-AA. 3.7 ODOR The material shall not have a disagreeable odor within the temperature range of -18 to 102 C. Materials that is considered to have a disagreeable odor by the quality control or product engineering office will be subject to reaction. 3.8 MILDEW RESISTANCE The material shall exhibit no visual evidence of mildew growth and shall have no mildew odor after 7 days exposure in a humidity cabinet controlled to 100 % relative humidity at 38 C.
