SCOPE The materials defined by these specifications are an extrusion

3、 grade vinyl copolymer or homopolymer formulation of a quality suitable for manufacturing trim welts and moldings. 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released originally for materials used in an extruded form as welts or moldings with or without core inserts, for trimming and/or sealing interi

4、or automotive body assemblies such as seats, headlinings, and window openings. The ESB-M1G6-A/ B were released for welts with a hollow core, and the ESB-M1G6-A2/ B2 were released for welts with a polyethylene core. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualif

5、ication of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Design

6、Center master sample, or shall be as specified on the engineering drawing. Metallic or pearlescent appearances shall be obtained by incorporating metallic or pearlescent particles throughout the basic vinyl formulation. 9、792) (ASTM D 2116) (FLTM BO 21-2) 0.930-0.940 0.75 121 C 3.6 DIMENSIONS The dimensions of the welt or molding and the durometer hardness range shall be as specified on the engineering drawings. The physical properties of the material shall meet the requirements according to the durometer hardness li

10、sted in para 3.4. 3.7 FINISHED WELT AND BINDING The finished welt or molding shall conform to the information contained on engineering drawings, releases and to the requirements specified on the engineering specification issued for each specific design. In addition, the finished welts and moldings m

11、ust meet the following requirements: 3.7.1 Resistance to Fade (FLTM BN 1-1) The coating shall not stain, exhibit color tone change or change in hue, in accordance with rating 5 of the AATCC Chart for measuring transference of color after 120 SFH exposure. Production materials shall exhibit light fas

12、tness qualities equal to or better than the approved master sample. 13、exing in service (i.e., extrusions used on seat cushions and backs) shall withstand a 180 bend at -34 C without fracture. Welts or moldings not subjected to flexing in service (i.e., extrusions used along headlinings or quarter trim panels) shall withstand a 180 bend at -29 C without fracture. 3.7.3

14、 H2S Staining (FLTM AN 102-01) The vinyl shall correspond to a rating of 5 when compared to the AATCC Chart for measuring the transference of color. Production materials shall exhibit H2S staining qualities equal to or better than the approved master sample. 3.7.4 Seam Strength, min 445 N (FLTM BN 1

15、19-01, except the welt shall be sewn between two 100 x 150 mm warp specimens of approved bodycloth fabric, and a minimum of 3 tests shall be conducted). 3.7.5 Contact Migration Staining When a section of the welt or molding is placed in direct contact with coated cardboards, leather, rubber, vinyl-c

16、oated fabrics or textiles normally used with the material in an assembly, and is exposed for 48 h as outlined in FLTM BN 1-1, the contact materials shall not exhibit any greater staining or softening of their surfaces than that produced by the approved master sample. 3.7.6 Resistance to Abrasion (FL

17、TM BN 108-01, to facilitate testing, staple a 75 mm section of the welt or molding to a No. 10 duck (cut to fabric test sample size).) The color and pattern in the wear area shall be compatible in appearance with the adjacent unabraded areas. The resistance to abrasion of production welts or molding

18、s shall be equal to or better than that exhibited by the approved master sample after 1600 abrasion cycles. 3.7.7 Crocking (FLTM BN 107-01) Shall correspond to rating 3 to 5 when compared to the AATCC Chart for measuring the transference of color. 3.7.8 Resistance to Elevated Temperature No more los

19、s of grain or color change than the approved master sample after exposure at 82 C for 7 days. (FLTM BN 24-2, without the lot sampling plan) In addition, the test specimen shall not exhibit any flashing or sudden flaming on either surface in excess of the above maximum value. 3.7.10 ESB-M1G6-B/B2 Flammability In order to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standa

21、rd No. 302, the materials, portions of components, and composites shall not burn, or transmit a flame across its surface, at a rate of more than 100 mm per minute. To demonstrate compliance, the sample size and method of testing shall be in accordance with FLTM BN 24-2. 3.7.11 Tensile Strength of We

22、lt/Binding Elongation of Welt/Binding at maximum Tensile Strength Elongation of Welt/Binding at Specified Stretch Load The above physical requirements of para 3.5.11 shall be specified on the engineering drawing and shall be based upon an average of 3 tests. The stretch load shall also be specified on the engineering drawing. All tests shall be conducted with an initial jaw separation of 125 mm and a jaw speed of 255 mm/min per FLTM BN 13-7.
