APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally to seal horizontal and verticalinterior joints.It has an aggressive magnetic adhesive which promotes adhesion to oiledCRLC steel, galvanized steel and steel-sheet zinc rich prime
3、r coatedsubstrates. This sealer has good phosphate wash resistance properties. Thematerial expands during the electrocoat bake schedules noted per para 5.3.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSuppliers must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStandard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Con
4、trol Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatistical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may
5、 conduct infrared and/orthermal analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approval shallconstitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand the
6、rmograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned ina controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testi

Check adhesion byinserting the tip of a squared spatula under the edge ofthe 2 5 mm wide section of material, and then attempt tohand peel sealer at a 90 degree angle to panel. Materialshould fail cohesively rather than delaminating cleanlyfrom substrate surface. Ob
16、serve for any evidence of corrosion and adhesion lossdirectly under material.3.15 RESISTANCE TO CORROSION 500 h(ASTM B 117)No loss of adhesion or blistering of the material and no evidence ofcorrosion on the metal surface when subjected to salt spray. Under these storage conditions, the shelf life of themat erial shall be 3 months. When these materials are stored atte mperatures belo
22、w 23 C, they shall be conditioned at roomtemperature prior to ap plication. Adequate conditioning permits thematerial to obtain its optimum application properties.3.23 FUNCTIONAL APPROVALMaterials being evaluat ed for initial approval to this specificationshall be subjected to a production trial. 23、nctional trial resultssho uld be available to design and material engineering prior tomaterial approval and release.3.24 MATERIAL CONSISTENCYShall be a smooth, homogenous mixture free from foreign materials andproperties detrimental to normal production operations.3.25 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSSpecifi
24、c requirements for material and/or manufa ctured parts shall bespecified on the Engineering drawing, Engineerin g parts specificationand/or performance specifications.
