SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a clear, thermally dried primer. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for an adhesion pr
3、omoter for abrasion resistant clear topcoat for polycarbonate. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 COMPOSITION 3.2.1 Vehicle A resin
4、blended in an appropriate manner to provide good adhesion to polycarbonate substrate. Minor amounts of modifiers and/or plasticizers are allowed. 3.2.2 Specific Composition The supplier will furnish the specific composition of the formulation upon request. 3.3 PHYSICAL PROPERTIES 3.3.1 Viscosity, Pa

6、cified, thermoplastic or thermosetting plastic materials, 2.5 - 4.0 mm thick of any convenient size, representative of production material. The panels shall be cleaned by an acceptable commercial process to remove mold release agents, fingerprints, oils, dirt, moisture and any other surface contamin
7、ation prior to coating. 3.4.2 Film Thickness, Primer 0.35 - 0.65 m (FLTM BI 117-01, use Fischerscope MULTI 650 or equivalent) Recommended Procedure: Substitute a steel panel for the thermoplastic panel (para 3.4.1), apply primer and cure per manufacturers recommendation. Measure film thickness on st
8、eel panel. Umpire Method: USE EXTREME CAUTION when performing this test. See para 4.3. 3.5 APPEARANCE 3.5.1 Color Clear 3.5.2 General The coating when cured shall be a presentable serviceable film showing no craters, pinholes, seediness or abnormal roughness. 3.6 FILM PROPERTIES 3.6.1 Adhesion (FLTM
9、 BI 106-01) No more than 1% loss of adhesion. 3.6.2 Topcoat Compatibility 3.6.2.1 Clear Topcoat Apply sufficient clearcoat to achieve 4.5 - 7.0 m dry film thickness over panels prepared per para 3.4. The Manufacturing Engineering Department shall notify both the Plant Security and the Safety Units of its presence in the Plant to assure that proper fire precautions are pr

The location in which it is used or stored shall be included in the notification. 4.3 FILM THICKNESS 4.3.1 Application This procedure is used for measuring the dry film thickness of clear coatings over a transparent plastic part. 4.3.2 Apparatus Required Use a surface analyzer equipped with
13、a strip chart recorder or a storage device that is capable of producing a hard copy for records retention. The surface analyzer should have capability of adjusting: . Stroke length .
