SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a heat stabilized type 6 nylon blended with another polymer to provide a heat sealable, decorable, molded plastic part. This material

3、 contains approximately 20% glass fiber. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used where decorability and/or heat sealability are required such as the horn projector. NOTICE: This material absorbs and retains moisture. Part design and tolerances must accommodate cha

4、nges in part dimensions and physical properties due to moisture absorption or loss in the service/assembly environment. Information on this material with respect to moisture should be obtained from the responsible PEO Materials Engineering Department. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PR

5、ODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 CERTIFICATION To be run on a continuing basis. This could be on a lot or daily basis. 3.1.1 Conditioning Specimens are to be dry as molded. They

6、are not to be intentionally exposed to any moisture. If specimens will be exposed to air for more than 5 min after molding and before testing, they shall be kept in a sealed, air and moisture proof glass container. They shall be tested within 5 min after removal from the containers. Maximum moisture

7、 content 0.3%. 3.1.2 Melting Point 210 - 225 C (ASTM D 789) 3.1.3 Specific Gravity 1.20 - 1.30 (ASTM D 792) 3.1.4 Moisture Content, max 0.3% (ASTM D 789) 3.1.5 Tensile Strength, min 13,000 psi (90 MPa) (ASTM D 638, Speed “C“) ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONESF-M4D325-A Printed copies are uncontro

9、 3.2.2 Deflection Temperature, min (ASTM D 648, as received, 1/4 in (6.4 mm) specimen width) At 66 psi (455 kPa) 199 C At 264 psi (1820 kPa) 177 C 3.2.3 Flexural Modulus, min 900,000 psi (6.2 GPa) (ASTM D 790, 1/4 x 1/2 in (6.4 x 12.7 mm) specimen) 3.3 MOLDED PART 3.3.1 Parts molded of this material shall be free from visible porosity and voids. 3.3.2 Melting Point 210 - 225 C (ASTM D 789) 3.3.3 Ductility The performance test method and part requirement shall be specified on the engineering drawing.
