2、ge 1 of 2 POLYAMIDE (PA) 66, PLASTICIZED, HIGH TEMPERATURE ESF-M4D511-A RESISTANT MOLDING COMPOUND NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a heat stabilized, plasticized type 66 polyamide (nylon) molding compound. 2. APPLICATION This specification was rel
3、eased originally for material used for speedometer cables. NOTICE: This material absorbs and retains moisture. Part design and tolerances must accommodate changes in part dimensions and physical properties due to moisture absorption or loss in the service/assembly environment. Information on this ma
4、terial with respect to moisture should be obtained from the responsible PEO Materials Engineering Department. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P
5、1111-A). 3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values indicated herein are based on material and specimens with moisture content not exceeding 0.3% (test according to ISO R 960, Method B/ASTM D 789). All test materials immediately after processing have to be sealed in containers that are imp
6、ermeable to water vapor. If the moisture content exceeds 0.3%, condition the material for a minimum of 16 h at 40 - 50 C at a reduced pressure below 133 kPa. Conduct tests in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity. Individual specimens shall not be removed from closed
7、containers until immediately before testing. 3.4 HEAT STABILIZER ADDITIVE Ford Motor Company, at its option, may conduct following heat stabilizer additive test on material/parts supplied to this specification. The stabilizer must be present. Test Method: Ash 1 g sample in a covered porcelain crucib

Allow the crucible to cool to room temperature and then add 1 - 2 cc of 5 molar hydrochloric acid, swishing to wash sides of cru

A faint greenish yellow color indicates the presence of a heat stabilizer. It is imperative to use controls of stabilized and non-stabilized nylons, b

It is also very important to avoid any possibility of contamination. 3.5 MOLDING COMPOUND 3.5.1 Melting Point 250 - 265 C (ASTM D 789)3.6 MOLDED TEST SPECIMEN 3.6.1 Preparation of Test Specimens Unless otherwise specified all tests shall be ca
