、 FECDS G-1 Engineering CAD CAD the Master (CtM), Drawing the Master with CAD Content (DtMC) or a Drawing the Master (DtM). The Master Data File is the source of both product definition and those elements of the manufacturing process that depend upon the product definition. The intent is to produce q

、 separate, yet associative CAD Drawing File that contains any remaining PMI Annotation not included in the 3D CAD Geometry File. 2.4 Drawing the Master (DtM) is an electronic or manual 2D drawing containing a Ford Title Block, complete drawing views and complete PMI Annotation. 2.5 3D CAD Geometry F
、ile contains the theoretical 3D CAD geometry as expressed in a CAD software defining the parts design intent attributes. NOTE: The 3D CAD Geometry File is considered to be dimensionally CAD Basic (theoretically perfect) or nominal. See Standard D-1, para. 1.3.23. 2.6 CAD Drawing File is an electroni
、c drawing file containing a Ford Title Block and Revision Block format with associated views of a parts 3D CAD Geometry File with text and/or Annotation necessary to fully define the part intended for production release. This definition does not include Non-CAD Drawings, see Standard A-1 para. 3.8.2
、.4. ENGINEERING CAD do not duplicate lines or extract portions of a line into line segments unless it is required as a CAD deliverable. Some examples of CAD deliverable lines are Die Vector Lines, Parting Lines or Mating Surface Boundary Lines. 3.1.4.6 Annotation Shall be delivered according to the
、quality requirements of each of the D Standards. NOTE: Annotation can be represented: Associated (attached) to a 3D CAD Geometry File A separate, yet associated 3D CAD Geometry File (e.g. Locator Drawing) A separate, yet associated CAD Drawing File Noted on a stand-alone Drawing file. 3.1.5 CAD Draw
、ing File Requirements 3.1.5.1 The use of any technique that prevents Ford Motor Company from being able to access and manipulate any 2D drawing or entity within a CAD Geometry File or CAD Drawing file is strictly prohibited. 3.1.5.2 The same 3D CAD Geometry File, shall be used in the construction of
、 2D CAD Drawing File. This eliminates discrepancies between the 3D CAD geometry and the 2D CAD drawing geometry and provides for linked updates of the drawing. NOTE: All 2D CAD Drawing File views, auxiliary views and sections shall be associative to the 3D model file geometry that they represent. No
、nassociative, explicit images of a components drawing views are not permitted on Ford Motor Company 2D CAD drawing formats. Non-associative images are only permitted when the 3D CAD Geometry Files geometry does not require the geometry for the 2D drawing view, e.g. a chart or graph. 3.1.5.3 Third pa
、rty or externally referenced shapes, entities, and fonts shall NOT be used. Only those included with the approved CAD software release are permitted. 3.1.5.4 It is permissible to include a 3D rotated view, scaled if necessary, on a detail where this would improve drawing interpretation. NOTE: To avo
、id misleading data, PDGS perspectives used for this purpose must only be created in FORMAT OPERATIONS 3.1.5.5 Do not create detail drawings or pictures in the layout. These must be confined to a separate detail file. 3.1.5.6 Avoid using background component information on sections except when essent
、ial for clarity. ENGINEERING CAD multiple Purges may be necessary to remove all unreferenced block. 3.4.1.6 All drawings must be zoomed to extents before saving (enter command: ZOOM, then EXTENTS before saving). This view includes all drawing entities. ENGINEERING CAD additional attributes, if added
、, shall be added in such a way that they do not duplicate previously defined tags. 3.4.2.2 It may be beneficial to store the information entered for the part file attributes of the Ford-supplied Title Blocks to minimize repetitive typing for each Program or Plant. For example: required attributes wh
、ich do not change, such as Vendor Name, Vendor Job Number, etc. ENGINEERING CAD use only for a cursory examination of surface quality. 3.6.1.8 Construct everything on one layer when utilizing solids. 3.6.1.9 Stepped sections should be avoided. (It is preferable to cut an extra section, rather than u
、se this technique.) Where stepped sections cannot be saved, use two or more views located and clipped accordingly. 3.6.1.10 To remove fonting use ERASE APPEARANCE not CHANGE APPEARANCE FONT SOLID which increases the size of the database. 3.6.1.11 Refer to current release bulletin of CADDS for databa
、se maintenance routines and other productivity enhancements. 3.6.2 CV CAD DATA- PARTS 3.6.2.1 The numbering system for CADDS parts is to be in accordance with the corporate system as shown in Standard B2 with the following exception: For example: PLYR3E030104N321A or PL YR3E 030104 N321A becomes PL.
、YR3E.030104.N321A. 3.6.2.2 The reason for this is that the full stops designate catalogue (directory) levels which are used for listing and searching for groups of parts. For example: LIST PL.YR3E would list all layouts with YR3E in the part number LIST YR3E.9430 will list all exhaust manifolds with
、 a YR3E prefix. LIST YR3E creates a list of everything with a YR3E prefix. 3.6.2.3 The hyphen is considered to be an ordinary character and its use would create a file name with no catalogue (directory) levels.
