、rts and/or binding straps for tubes, wires, etc. in a wide range of automotive applications, including underhood locations where stabilized operating temperature does not exceed 350F. (Short time exposure should not exceed 4000F. ) Material: The material used shall be Type 6/6 or Qpe 6 Nylon, heat s
、tabilized to minimize degradatiog. of mechanical properties through exposure to moderately elevated tempera- tures (350 F). The material must neither be embrittled by exposure to low temperatures (-40F), nor attacked by the acids and solvents typical to underhood applications. The material shall be
、self-extinguishing per ASTM-D635 test method. The straps shall be uniform in density, and be free of porosity, cracks, or other defects detrimental to func- tion. They shall be reasonably free of gates, flash, ridges, blisters, etc. Color and Marking: Parts supplied shall be black in color, and shal

Engineering Approval: Written approval by Engineering is required for each part supplier, each design of retaining feature, and the material source and grade used in each instance. Demonstrated capability to meet Ford requirements shall be
、 furnished by potential suppliers prior to Engineering approval. Assembly feasi- bility, using vendor supplied samples, will be verified by Ford prior to approval of suppliers. Moisture Conditioning: Prior to testing the straps shall be placed in a chamber with a constant temperature of 120F (+50, -
、00) and relative humidity of 20% (+3%, -0%) for 24 hours. Immediately upon removal from the chamber, store the samples in an airtight container for 30 minutes at room temperature. The straps shall be tested immediately after removal from the airtight container. PLASTIC SUPPORT STRAPS Mechanical Requ
