SCOPEThe mate rial defined by this specification is a

2、 flame resistant moldedpolyether base polyurethane foam with closed skin on the entire surface.2. APPLICATIONThis m aterial is used as a sound absorption pad in the engine compartmentand is adhered with adhesive ac cording to S-M2G4610-A to the underneath ofthe hood and/or other applications as spec

3、ified on the E ngineering Drawing.3. REQUIREMENTSNot e: The material shall be conditioned for a minimum of 24 h at 23 +/-2 C and 50 +/ - 5 % relative humidity prior to test and tested under thesame conditions.3.1 COLORGrey or as specified on the Engineering Drawing.3.2 THICKNESS(ASTM D 1564)Between

4、10 mm and 38 mm according to the Engineering Drawing.3.3 DENSITY 40 - 70 kg/m3(ISO 1855, with surface skin)3.4 TENSILE STRENGTH(ISO 1798)3.4.1 Original, min 80 kN/m23.4.4.1 Elongation at Break, min 100 %3.4.2 After Humidity Ageing(ISO 2440, 3 h 105 C)Maximum - 30 %, based on measured original value.

6、r blade.2) Cover the area with tape accor ding to SK-M3G9500-A and press downfirmly.3) Remove t he tape from test piece in a tensile testing machine atan angle of 180 deg and a test speed of approx 500 mm/minute.3.6 RESISTANCE OF SKIN TO VARIOUS TEST REAGENTSThe coating shall not dissolve or exhibit

7、 tackiness when rubbedlig htly for 15 seconds with a cotton cloth soaked with each of thefo llowing test reagents. Use a separate specimen for each testreagent.1) Petrol, Premium grade2) Oil No 1, ASTM D 4713) Ford Longlife coolant(50 % mixture in water)4) Toluene3.7 FLAMMABILITY S elf-extinguishing

8、(FLTM EU-BN 24-1, 15 s)3.8 ADHESION TO PAINTED METALThere shall be no loss of adhesion, no evidence of skin or foamdeterioration when tested as follows.Test Method A:1) Cut from material under test specimens 200 x 200 mm (thicknessacc ording to Engineering Drawing) and bond firmly with adhesiveaccor

9、din g to S-M2G4610-A to body steel panel 300 x 300 x 1 mm,prepared according to FLTM EU-BI 3-2.2) After 24 hours at room tempera ture expose test assemblies 4 timesto the following environmental test cycle:16 h at 38 +/- 1 C and 98 +/- 2 % relative humidity8 h at 70 +/- 2 C3) Cool to r oom temperatu

11、 da ys at 70 +/- 2 C in a mechanically convected air-dryoven.3) After cooling to room temperature expose assemblies for 4 hoursat - 40 +/- 1 C and while still in cold box test accord ing to FLTMEU-BV 55-6, Load “B“.3.9 ADHESION AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURESNo loss of adhesion or deterioration of skin.Tes

12、t Method:1) Prepa re test specimens as outlined under clause 3.8, Method “A“,paragraph 1.2) After 24 hours conditioning at room temperature suspend assembliesin inve rted position in a mechanically coveted air-dry ovenmaintained at 90 +/- 2 C for 14 days.3.10 SOUND ABSORPTION(ASTM C 384)According to

13、 attached diagrams.3.11 ODORThe material shall be free from objectionable or irritating odor bothas received and after storage.3.12 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted

14、.Pri or to making any change in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing

15、, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Materials Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by t

17、heresp onsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a c

18、ompleted copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for

19、 Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended processes and/or applications. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.5. GENERAL INFORM
