2、raphics, of all constructions (i.e., silk screened, colorpigmen ted). The construction type utilizes a pressure sensitive adhesivefor bonding to automotive exterior surfaces.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for flexible exterior ornaments/letters/nameplates that are adhesivel

3、y bonded to painted body panels.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to anal

4、yze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms

5、 established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CON

6、DITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 72 h prior to testing and tested under thesame c onditions unless otherwise specified. Unapplied dimensionalgraphic s shall be conditi

When not feasible, specimens cut frommo lded tes

8、t sheets manufactured from the same material andwith equ ivalent cure to molded parts are recommended. Thetest sheets shall have the following dimensions:150 x 150 mm, min x construction thickness in mm3.5 ORIGINAL PROPERTIES3.5.1 Tensile Strength, min 7.0 MPa(ISO 37/ASTM D 412, Die C)3.6 90 Degree

9、Mean Peel Adhesion Value(FLTM BU 112-01, except determine adhesion onsubstrate/paint to be used in production. Applyusing a solvent wipe (a 50/50 water and isopropylalcohol blend) of the substrate, drying of thesubstrate, then apply test specimen using a 2 kgroller or equivalent. Test results shall

26、g or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obta

27、in the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir material

29、s shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized represen

30、tative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance

31、to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended processes and/or applications. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.5. GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information given below is provided for clarification and assistancein meeting the

32、requirements of this specification.5.1 Car Wash Spray No loss in adhesion, li fting, filmcra cking, pitting, or color andgloss changeTest Method: Use a car wash unit with a 1100 psi (76 bars) minimumpressure at gun tip, a maximum or 15 degree gun tip fan angle, and awater temperature of 23 +/- 2 C. At a distance of 200 mm from sampleat a 45 degree angle of the sample to the water spray, spray waterfor a five minute duration on the sample edge. Remove spray andexamine sample.
