2、rements for interiornetting assemblies.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for materials used forcarg o/convenience nettings and includes associated bungee or cord, andwebbing materials.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Qua

3、lity SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR

4、THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated materia

5、l laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/

6、- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.3.4 APPEARANCE(FLTM BI 109-01)The col or, pattern, and finish shall match the approved sample, orshall be as specified on the engineering drawing.ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFI

8、r interiorvehicle use. The netti ng may have a double selvedge on bothsides and must not unravel. The netting construction,dimensions, yarn and mesh size, strength, weight, and otherphys ical characteristics shall be as specified on theengine ering drawing and shall conform to the engineeringapprova

9、l sample with the following:Netting tolerances +/- 5 %3.6.2 Webbing Construction/Description/Yarn Size(ASTM D 3775/ASTM D 1244)The mate rial defined by this specification is a webbing ofgood quality and uniform composition intended for interiorvehicle use. The web construction, yarn composi tion, we

10、ight,breaking strength, and other physical characteristics shallbe as specified on the engineering drawing and shall conformto the engineering approval sample with the following:Webbing tolerances +/- 5 %3.6.3 Bungee or Cord Construction/Description/Yarn Size(ASTM D 1244)The material defined by this

11、 specification is br aided elasticor non-elastic cord of good quality and uniform compositionintended for interior vehicle use. The bungee or cordconstruction, yarn and elastomer composition, strength,elongation, size, and other physical characteris tics shall beas specified on the eng ineering draw

12、ing and shall conform tothe engineering approval sample with the following:Bungee or Cord diameter tolerance +/- 7 %Bungee or Cord elongation tolerance +/- 25 %Other Bungee or Cord tolerances +/- 5 %Specif ic netting assemblies as approved by the MaterialsEngineering Activity shall be listed in the

The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application. 28、APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresp onsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activit

29、y. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresu

30、lts, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for i ntended processes and/or applications. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.
