2、 USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a polyurethane prepolymer base glass primer and UV protector. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material to prime windshield glass and is used in conjunction with materials identified in para 5.1.
3、 The material is suitable for production and service repair applications. The glass Primer film thickness has to be 10 m 20 m (check the process sheet of Vehicle Operations). 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the
4、Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 COLOR Black 3.5 SOLIDS, min 34 %(FLTM BV 150-10) 3.6 ASH, max 6 %(FLTM BV 150-10) 3.7 WEIGHT PER VOLUME 0.93 - 1.03 kg/L (ASTM D 816) The density tolerance for any one supplier shall be +/- .02 kg/L, based on the recorded
5、density of the originally approved sample. 3.8 VISCOSITY AT 23 C, max 17 s(FLTM BI 111-01, No. 4 Ford cup) 3.9 HIDING POWER The primer, when applied at a wet film thickness of 80 +/- 10 micrometre, shall completely black-out glass surfaces. 6、 Copyright 2009, Ford Global Technologies, Inc. 3.10 DRYING RATE, max 9 minutes Apply an 8 - 13 micrometre film of primer in a film 25 mm wide to a 75 x 75 mm clean glass plate. To determine the primer drying rate, immediately at rapid intervals, dab the primer with a wad of absorbent cotton. Observ
7、e if any of the cotton fibers adhere to the primed surface. Record the drying rate, as the time lapsed from the initial primer application until the cotton fibers do not adhere to the primer. 3.11 ODOR Shall be free from objectionable or irritating odors, both in the “as received“ condition and at a
8、pplication temperatures. 3.12 STORAGE STABILITY, min 4 months (From date of receipt at Ford Motor Company) When stored in sealed unopened containers out of direct sunlight at ambient temperatures between 5 C and 32 C. The supplier must label each container to indicate expiration date of the material
9、 and production usage beyond expiration date is not permitted. 3.13 QUALITY The material shall be of uniform quality, free from foreign materials and properties detrimental to normal production use. It shall not cause excessive soiling of handlers in normal production use. 3.14 NON-INTERCHANGEABILIT
10、Y OF MATERIALS Only approved materials from the same production source shall be used in conjunction with one another. 5.
