REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approv

Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continually reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company in its option, may conduct in frared and/or thermalana lysis of materials/parts supplie
6、d to this specification. The IRspectra and thermograms established for initial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated Material Laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedun

8、air drying paint systems shall be agedfor 7 days at 23 +/- 2 C or 36 h at 43 +/- 2 C before testing forresistance properties unless otherwise specified. 13、 test panels in accordance with testmethod ie. phosphated t est panels, UMA 18004 or 18005 coatedwith current body painting system; cathodic electrocoat,primer surfacer, and topcoat enamel.3.8.2 Spot Repair SimulationRub th rough the standard paint system 3.8.1 to bare steelusing the “feathering tec
14、hnique“ with the approp riate wet/drysa nd paper. Clean the created spot-repair area with anappropriate degreasing solvent, then allow to dry and “tackoff“.Mix the hardener and primer in the recomended ra tio and applythree coats of the two pack primer system, 25 - 35micrometres.Enamels containing a

18、 the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Ma
19、terials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addre
20、ssed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresp onsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall f
21、irst obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of
22、 the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this s
23、pecification and on anassessment of suitability for i ntended processes and/or applications. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.5.
