2、CATIONS 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a U.V. stabilized thermoplastic styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene copolymer elastomer. The material can be processed by conventional thermoplastic molding techniques such as injection and/or extrusion molding. 2. APPLICATION The specific
3、ation was released originally for material used for roof profile skins, exterior trim seals, cowl vent grille seals and mud flaps. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Productio
4、n Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 DYNAMIC MECHANICAL ANALYSIS (ASTM D 4065) Ford Motor Company, at its option, may establish shear modulus/damping vs. temperature curves plotted for - 50 to + 170 C temperature range for material/parts supplied to this specification. The shear modulus and damping cur
5、ves established for initial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samples shall produce shear modulus and damping curves that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions. 3.3 MATERIAL TESTI
6、NG 3.3.1 Preparation of Test Specimens Whenever possible, all test specimens shall be die-cut from the finished parts. When not feasible, molded specimens are manufactured from the same material and with equivalent cure to the molded parts are recommended. The molded specimens respect the dimensions

12、te 3.7 WEATHERING RESISTANCE After exposure in accordance with 3.7.1, 3.7.2 and 3.7.3 the material shall show no color change in excess of specified Gray Scale rating (AATCC Evaluation Procedure 1/ ISO 105-A02). In addition, there shall be no cracking, crazing or other deterioration. A slight loss o
13、f gloss or chalking will be allowed provided an acceptable appearance can be achieved by washing and/or polishing with Ford car polish (auto wax) after the outdoor exposure, by permission of the affected Product Development Materials Activity.
