SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a bulked continuous filament (BCF) nylon, low loop pile carpet, tufted into a synthetic primary foundation and
3、 then coated with a latex back coating which is then laminated to a heavy layer substrate. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released for material used for accessory floor mats applications on 2003 Ford vehicles. 3. REQUIREMENTS In addition to the requirements listed herein, the end-item carpet
4、assembly (molded or otherwise fabricated) shall meet all requirements of the WSS-M15P44-A performance specification for accessory floor mat applications. 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to Quality System Requirements, QS-9000. Material specification
5、 requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. A Control Plan for ongoing production verification is required. This plan must be reviewed and approved by the relevant Ford Materials activity and/or Ford Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) prior to production parts submission. A
6、ppropriate statistical tools must be used to analyze process/product data and assure consistent processing of the materials. Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part producers must conform t

8、andard and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samples shall produce IR spectra and thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions. 3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values indicated herein are based on material co
9、nditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. 3.4 SAMPLE SELECTION All evaluations shall be conducted on test specimens taken from finished roll goods prior

The latex shall be thor
14、oughly melted and shall maintain its ability to lock in the pile fibers in the end-item, carpet mat assembly. The latex shall thoroughly saturate the base of the pile fiber bundles to ensure adequate tuft lock. Penetration of the latex through to the face shall be controlled to provide the required
15、resistance to abrasion and fiber loss, but the backcoating shall not be visible on the face of the pile fiber. 3.7.4.2 Heavy Layer Substrate The latex backed carpet shall be securely bonded to a heavy layer substrate which shall be of adequate weight and thickness to allow the formation of uniform n

19、on must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supp
20、lier shall notify the affected Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities (with reasons) of the proposed changes. Upon notification of the Company, further instructions will be provided. Note: Suppliers should be prepared to provide test data and samples demonstrating compliance to this specif
21、ication, if requested. Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. Certain materials subcontracted by part suppliers may also require prior approval. These include materials critical to the Companys
23、business for regulatory, safety, environmental or compatibility requirements or contractual agreements. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit a com
24、pleted copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of this specification. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. The original carpet construction approved under this specification employed a primary backing as follows: 5.1 COMPOSITION (ASTM D 276) Primary Foundation Material 100 % Polyester
