SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a well refined gasoline containing normal commercial additives and which can contain permitted gasoline extenders. Additional anti-oxidant and addit
3、ives to prevent spark plug fouling/corrosion may be present for some applications. Metal containing/ash forming additives are not permitted. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as initial fill fuel for vehicles designed to operate on unleaded gasoline in Europ
4、e. This material is not specifically intended for use in certification testing. It may be used for engine hot test, mileage accumulation or general fueling. When used as an initial fill or hot test fuel the material must meet the additional requirements shown in 3.12. When used as a hot test fuel in
5、 locations where a proportion of engines may be shipped or stored for periods in excess of six months before use, the material must meet the additional requirements shown in 3.13. Page 3 of 4 3.12 ADDITIVES The material shall contain normal commercial additives, e.g., deicers, detergents, etc., at c
12、oncentrations representative of good commercial practice in the receiving locale (unless otherwise specified). The additive package shall be formulated for a “clean- up“ level of detergency for control of deposits in electronic fuel injectors, as well as a “keep-clean“ level of detergency for the en
13、tire induction system, including intake valves. This level of performance must be demonstrated by actual vehicle or engine test data supplied to the responsible Ford product engineering activity. The test procedure must be agreed upon between this activity and the supplier. Metal containing additive
14、s are not permitted. 3.13 COLOR The material shall be dyed in accordance with supplier standard practice to a color agreed with Ford Motor Company. 3.14 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT FOR INITIAL FILL AND HOT TEST Spark plug anti-fouling/anti corrosion additive ESD-M99C118-A must be added at 0.50% +/- 0.10%
15、 by volume. Alternatively, the fuel supplier can use other suitable additive packages to achieve equivalent spark plug anti-fouling performance in the finished fuel. This must be demonstrated by a spark plug fouling test procedure mutually agreed with the Ford Fuels and Lubricants Engineering area.
16、The additive addition may be performed by the fuel supplier or by the Ford location concerned. 3.15 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT FOR LONG TERM ENGINE STORAGE Oxidation Stability, minimum 600 minutes (ASTM D 525, IP 40, ISO 7536, DIN 51780, BS 2000: Part 40: 1992) 3.16 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT FOR SETUBAL PL
17、ANT The material must comply with Volkswagen material specification VW TL 521 56. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 FLAMMABILITY This material represents a potential fire hazard. The
18、Manufacturing Engineering Department or other responsible activity shall notify both the Security and Safety Units of its presence to assure that proper fire precautions are provided. The location in which it is used or stored shall be included in the notifications. 5.2 SAMPLING AND SUBMISSION OF SA
