For new product submissions, or when a change in chemical composition of an

11、 existing product has occurred, a complete copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet must be submitted in compliance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirements or other country-specific MSDS/SDS requirements. In addition, product

12、 MSDS/SDS submissions must be in compliance with specific country General Motors TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet guidance documents where available. 5.6 All materials supplied to this standard must comply with the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances for

13、Parts. 6 Approved Sources Engineering qualifications of an approved source are required for this standard. Only sources listed in the GM Materials File under this standard number have been qualified by Engineering as meeting the requirements of this standard. For other GM locations, the responsible

14、Engineering group should be contacted to obtain the approved source in that individual country. 7 Notes 7.1 Glossary. Investment Casting. It is also known as the lost wax process. It can be used to make parts that are hard, difficult to machine and cannot be produced by normal manufacturing techniqu

15、es. The mold is made by making a pattern using wax or some other material that can be melted away. This wax pattern is dipped in refractory slurry, which coats the wax pattern and forms a skin. This is dried and the process of dipping in the slurry and drying is repeated until a robust thickness is

16、achieved. After this, the entire pattern is placed in an oven and the wax is melted away. This leads to a mold that can be filled with the molten metal. After removing wax, the mold is fired at around 1,100 E for 2 hours. Because the mold is formed around a one-piece pattern, very intricate parts wi
