It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by GMW14288. 1. PURPOSE This standard aims at determining the
3、lateral stiffness of the tailgate to ensure correct fitting during use of vehicles. 2. SCOPE This standard is applied to the tailgate for passenger cars and multi-purpose vehicles. Particulars not specified in this standard shall follow directions in drawings. 3. SAMPLE PREPARATION 3.1. In the event
4、 of any intentional deviation from the requirements of this standard or engineering change, the supplier shall inform GMDAT of them. 3.2. Samples shall be composed of components and parts meeting material and dimensional requirements in drawings. Following consultation with the design engineer, howe
5、ver, they may be composed of parts for developmental use. 3.3. Sample shall be the tailgate assembly in white furnished with tailgate components specified in relevant drawings, tailgate hinge and body in white. 3.4. Samples shall be coated with primer or to the higher stage. 3.5. Samples shall show
6、no sign of flaws, deformation or scratch on the surface and be free from loads that may affect test. 4. TEST EQUIPMENT 4.1. Horizontal plate 4.2. B.I.W fixture jig 4.3. Recorder (capable of recording load vs displacement graph) 5. TEST PROCEDURES 5.1. Fix the B.I.W to the horizonta
8、l plate using the B.I.W fixture jig. 5.2. Mount the gas spring for tailgate support in the vehicle condition. 5.3. Fasten the tailgate and hinge to the B.I.W. 5.4. Full open the tailgate. 5.5. Install the displacement transducer, with which to measure lateral displacement of the tailgate, to the sym
9、metrical point of the loading point (See figure in Attachment #1.) 5.6. Connect the displacement transducer and signal amplifier with cable jacks. 5.7. Calibrate the signal amplifier and recorder. 5.8. Using the load cell, gradually apply the load starting from the tailgate edge line toward parallel
10、 direction up to 15kgf. (See figure in Attachment #1.) 5.9. After applying the load, measure elastic + plastic deformation (E+P) displayed on the signal amplifier and plastic deformation (P) and record them on the data sheet in Attachment #1 and at the same time plot the graph using the recorder wit
11、h the x-axis representing the displacement and y-axis the load. 6. EVALUATION STANDARD Compare the results with those of other competitive models.
