It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by GMW3136. 1. PURPOSE Thi
、s standard aims at specifying measure double image condition of the front windscreen glass (hereinafter called safety glass) for automobiles to check conformance to requirements of the standard. 2. SCOPE Apply to the safety glass (laminated glass with a high molecular film) for automobiles 3. TEST P
、IECE(specimen) This test shall be conducted with three samples (products). For all three samples, no portion of the double image of the spot shall go beyond inside diameter line of the ring 4. EQUIPMENT 4.1. Light Box The light box shall be approximately 300300150mm in size and its front face shall
、be coated with matted black paint. The ring slit and spot on its front shall be equipped with the orange colour filter and illuminated by a suitable light source (see Fig. 1). Fig 1 4.2. Support Fixture The supporting fixture shall be capable of mounting a specimen at the rake angle of a real car, a
、nd also of rotating or shifting it in horizontal direction and shifting it in vertical direction. 4.3. Dark Room or Dark Place EDS-T-3502DOUBLE IMAGE SEPARATION TEST OF SAFETY GLASS FOR AUTOMOBILES PAGE: 2/3 ISSUED DATE: 1993. 07. 13 REVISED DATE: 2008. 10. 23 VERSION: 4 GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology
、The apparatus shall be set in semi-dark or dark place to enable the tester to find easily the presence of secondary image. 5. TEST PROCEDURE 5.1. Mount the specimen as shown in Fig. 2. Fig 2 5.1.1. Set point G, a point on the sample surface and on the horizontal line OS which passes through spot cen
、ter “S“, so that distance between S and G is 7.6mm. G“ is a point which, when the sample is installed in the vehicle condition, passes through the drivers visual field, and where a straight horizontal line that is parallel with the vertical center side in the vehicle longitudinal direction intersect
、s with the sample. 5.1.2. Mount the specimen at the same angle as to the vehicle on the supporting fixture. 5.2. Set the observers eyes around point “E“ on the horizontal line OS. 5.3. Examine whether the secondary image of the spot that passes through the sample and lies at the center of the illumi
、nating box goes beyond the inside diameter line of the ring. 5.4. Rotate the sample horizontally around “E“, drivers visual field, and move it vertically to examine the secondary image condition in the test area. (See Fig 3.)
