PURPOSE Some plastic components (made from polyamide) shall contain moisture for the purpose of suitable material properties and dimensional stability, after manufacturing compo

3、nents shall be absorbed the moisture by suitable means and the moisture content shall be determined for routine quality control of components. 2. SCOPE This standard is applied to test method for determining the moisture content of plastic components. 3. DEFINITION 3.1. Moisture content: To be the m

4、ass loss of a test piece resulting from heating for 48 hours at 105. 4. TEST PIECE 4.1. Finished parts, some sections or granules shall be used as test pieces. 4.2. For initial sample approval and arbitration purposes, at least 3 test pieces shall be tested and for routine quality control, at least

5、1 test piece. 4.3. Sample of components or material released to this specification shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of its specification and approval by GMDAT TECHICAL CENTER prior to commencement of delivery of bulk supplies. 4.4. In the event of any intentional deviation from t

6、he requirements of this specification, it is the sole responsibility of the supplier to inform the purchase of all such deviation Furthermore the supplier shall submit unsolicited samples for reapproval by GMDAT TECHNICAL CENTER prior to comments of delivery of bulk supplies. 5. CONDITIONING Test pi

7、eces shall be tested in the as received condition without special conditioning. 6. APPARATUS 6.1. Oven or chamber capable of maintaining the test temperature. 6.2. Balance accuracy to 0.5 mg. 6.3. (Note: for granules, ones smaller than 5g in weight be tested by putting in previously dried crucibles or b

9、eakers.) 7.2. The test piece shall be heated in the oven or chamber at 105 for 48 hours. 7.3. After removal from the oven or chamber, the test piece shall be placed in a desiccator. 7.4. After 30 minutes, the test piece shall be removed from the desiccator and weighed. 8. EVALUATION The moisture con

10、tent shall be calculated as follows. W = (m2 - m1) / m2 100 W : moisture content ( % ) m1: mass of test piece after heating ( g ) m2: mass of test piece as received ( g ) 9.
