This standard describes material types of filled Acrylonit

2、rile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and polycarbonate (PC) blends that are used in injection components. 1.1.1 Types. The classification into groups is according to the different properties as described in Table 1 and Table 2. 1.2 Symbols. The material abbreviation according to ISO 11469 is ABS+PC+GF10ABS+

3、PC+GF20ABS+PC+T8ABS+PC+T18ABS+PC+T14. 1.3 Typical Applications. Typical applications include exterior and interior substrates/brackets that require high temperature stability, high strength, and low Coefficient of Linear Thermal Expansion (CLTE). 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards

TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet guidance documents (available at ). 3 Requirements 3.1 Materials approved to this standard shall meet the requirements of GMW3013, General Requirements for Handling of Technical Terms of

6、Delivery for Plastics. 3.2 Requirements on Delivery. Important physical, mechanical and thermal properties that characterize the material are summarized in Table 1. Note: For each product, the requirements to Table 1 shall be documented by Certification Statement according to GMW3013. The color shal

7、l be specified on drawings, in material specifications, and otherwise. 3.3 Requirements on Test Specimens. Unless otherwise specified, injection molding of test specimens shall be accomplished per ISO 294 with the conditions for injection molding from ISO 2580-2. Test methods and specimen dimensions

8、 are also to be in accordance with ISO 2580-2 with the following additions: use ISO 3167, Type 1A, thickness 4 mm for tensile and flexural properties. All tests shall be performed on specimens 40 h minimum after molding and immediately following a conditioning period of 24 h minimum in a controlled

9、atmosphere per GMW3221, Code A, unless otherwise specified. All tests shall be performed on unannealed specimens. The values specified in Table 1 shall be met by test specimens in natural or black. For integrally colored grades where other additive systems (e.g., stabilizer) are used, the impact val

10、ues shall not decrease more than 10% from the specified minimum value. All parts manufactured from molding compounds shall be resistant to the media they contact at their place of use. 3.4 Compound Properties. See Table 1. The following are also required for full specificati

12、on approval. The minimum number of lots per test required is one in natural: Stress Strain Curve at +23 C, +85 C, -30 C. Test Report according to GMW16853. 3.5 Performance Requirements. Performance requirements, e.g., flammability, fogging or resistance to odor, shall be specified on part drawings o

13、r in component specifications. All materials must sati

22、sfy applicable laws, rules, regulations and recommendations valid in the country of usage. 5.2 Language. In the event of conflict between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence. 5.3 Inspection and Rejection. Samples of components or materials released to a GM m

23、aterial specification shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of this material specification and approved by the responsible Engineering department prior to commencement of delivery of bulk supplies. A new approval must be received for any changes, e.g., properties, manufacturing proces

24、s, location of manufacture, etc. If not otherwise agreed, all testing and documentation normally required for initial release must be completed. 26、materials and/or processes and to apply for a new release. If not otherwise agreed, all release tests shall be repeated and documented by the supplier prior to commencement of delivery of non-conforming bulk supplies. In individual cases, a shorter test can be agreed to between the responsible Engin

27、eering department and the supplier. 5.4 Material Safety Data Sheets/Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS). For new product submissions, or when a change in chemical composition of an existing product has occurred, a complete copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet must be submitted in compl

28、iance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirements or other country-specific MSDS/SDS requirements. In addition, product MSDS/SDS submissions must be in compliance with specific country General Motors TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data

29、 Sheet guidance documents where available. 5.5 All materials supplied to this standard must comply with the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances for Parts. 6 Approved Sources Materials supplied to this specification must be approved by General Motors. A list of approved mate

30、rials can be found in MATSPC. This GM Material File is provided to third parties to reduce redundant testing of materials. If approved material already listed is used, the part supplier can use GM Material File reference for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) material approval. If the decision

31、is made to use a not yet approved material, contact Materials Engineering for details on the approval process. The material approval process must be completed prior to PPAP start date of the part supplied to General Motors. 7 Notes 7.1 Glossary. MATSPC: Global repository of GM approved materials for
