This commercial item description covers screwdrivers with
2、plastic handles and fixed flat tip blades made of a nonferrous alloy having a low sparking hazard and a low magnetic permeability. Salient characteristics: Handle. The- handle shall be made of a clear amber or yellow plastic, suitably shaped to fit the hand comfortably and provide a nonslip grip. Di
3、mensions shall be the same as for comparable size screwdrivers with steel blades. Blade. The screwdriver blade shall be made of beryllium copper or aluminum bronze alloy having an iron content not over five percent, and when present, it shall be well diffused throughout the alloy. When tested with a
4、 magnetic permeability indicator conforming to Military Specification MIL-1-17214, the magnetic permeability shall not be above 1.2 on the indicator scale. The screwdriver tip shall be of either the straight or flared flat tip design for driving slotted head screws. The opposite end shall be designe
5、d to be securely mounted in the handle. The blade cross section shall have a diameter or width across flats approximately equal to the screwdriver tip width. Blade tip width and thickness, and lengths (outside of handle) shall be as shown in the following table. Tolerances shall be plus 1/32, minus
6、1/64 inch for tip widths, plus .007 or minus .002 inch for tip thickness, and plus or minus 1/4 inch for blade length. The included angle between bearing surfaces shall be 18 degrees maximum. Workmanship. Screwdrivers shall be smoothly finished and free from burrs and roug

Each screwdriver shall be marked in a plain and permanent manner *with name, abbreviation, or chemical symbol of the alloy, the manufacturers name or trademark of such known character that the source o
11、f manufacture may be readily determined, and the country of origin. Quality assurance provisions. Sampling for inspection shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105, Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes, except where otherwise indicated herein. The lot size shall consist of all s
12、crewdrivers offered for acceptance at one time. A sample unit shall be one screwdriver. A. Examination for design, dimensions and workmanship. The inspection level shall be S-2 with an acceptable quality level (AQL) of 4.0 percent defective. B. Material. Material shall be ascertained by manufacturer
13、s certification. C. Torsion moment test. Torsian moment testing shall be in conformance with commercially accepted procedures. The inspection level shall be S-2 with an AQL of 4.g percent defective. Requlatory requirements. The offerer/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordanc
