The reamer
10、shall be fitted with removable cutting blades that shall be adjustable for reaming holes of any size within the range for which the reamer is designated. The reamer shall have straight, round shanks with square ends. The shanks shall be concentric with the cutting edges within 0.001” total indicator
11、 reading (tir) as measured between centers. The body portion of the reamer shall contain slots for holding the blades. The reamer shall be constructed to permit an adjustment of not less than 0.035” between the minimum and maximum size attainable with any one set of blades. The reamer assembly shall
12、 be capable of reaming round, straight and smooth holes free of chatter marks within any size range. The pilot bushing of the reamer shall have a surface roughness of not more that 25 micro- inches, arithmetical average (aa). 3.5 Blades. The blades shall be accurately machined and ground in sets to
13、properly fit slots provided on the body of the reamer. Tolerances for the length of individual sets of blades shall not exceed plus or minus 0.0025”. The width of the blades shall be uniform and interchangeable for the same size and make of reamer. Cutting surfaces of blades shall be concentric with
14、 the axis of the body in all positions throughout the range of adjustment. An adjusting nut, located at opposite ends of the blades, shall facilitate the adjustment of the blades. Blade ends shall be ground and rounded so that the blade ends do, not damage the adjusting nut, or washer when used.- 3.
15、6 Adiustinn Nuts. Adjusting nuts shall have at least two flat sides, or other suitable means not requiring special tools or wrenches, for the expansion adjustment. 3.7 Hardness, The full length of the cutting edge of the reamer shall be hardened and tempered to a Rockwell “C” Scale value from 61-67
16、per ASTM E18. 3.8 Threads. The reamer shall have fine threads in accordance with FED-STD-H28. 3.9 Interchanaeabilitv. All part shall be designed and manufactured to definite standards, clearances and tolerances in order that any such parts of particular type or model may be replaced, interchanged an
17、d adjusted without modification of the replacement part or any other parts of the unit. 3.10 Identification Markinn. The reamer shall be marked with the manufactures name or identifying symbol, and the state or country of manufacture. All identification markings shall be engraved, etched, molded or
18、indented directly on the items surface in such a manner that it remains clearly legible throughout the life of the item. The reamer blades shall be marked in sets with the reamers nominal size. In addition, the reamer shall be marked with the words “High Speed” or “High Speed Steel” or the correspon
19、ding abbreviation. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 4.1 Recovered Materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4.2 Metric Products. Products manufactured to me
20、tric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within the tolerances specified (using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376) and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product

24、fered for sale in the commercial market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5.2 Responsibility for Inspection. Unless otherwise specified, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements and may use any commercial facilities (incl
25、uding the contractors own facilities) suitable for performance of the inspection requirements, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections deemed necessary to assure the item conforms to the specified requirements. 6. PACKAGING. Preservat
