2、 for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE 1.1 This description covers requirements for rotary and non-rotary stools for use in filing rooms. 2. CLASSIFICATION 2.1 Types and sizes. The stools shall be of the following types and sizes (minimum), as specified: O Type I - Stools, filing (non-rotary) Size 1 -
3、350 mm high - Figure 1 Size 2 - 660 mm high - Figure 2 Type II - Stool, general-purpose (rotary) - Figure 3 Size 1 - 125 mm adjustable range (685 mm to 785 mm shall be included) Type III - Step Stool, folding steps - Figure 4 Size 1 - 915mm high Size 2 - 602mm high Class 1 - With back Class 2 - With

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 3.1 Materials. All materials shall be unused and free from
6、 defects that affect serviceability or appearance of the finished product. 3.1.1 Steel. The steel shall be commercial quality; either hot or cold rolled, and shall be free from rust, scales, or other imperfections. 3.1.2 Casters. The sockets shall be securely attached in accordance with the manufact
7、urers commercial practice. Caster diameter should be the manufacturers commercially available casters. 3.1.3 Glides. The glides must be firmly secured to each leg but may be removed with simple tools for replacement. 3.1.4 Finish. The finish shall be in accordance with the manufacturers commercial p
8、ractice. Colors shall be the manufacturers commercial colors. 3.2 Design. The stools shall be of the general designs illustrated in figures 1 - 5 3.2.1 Legs, Tvue I Stools. The legs shall be constructed of steel tubing or of steel channel formation or in accordance with the manufacturers commercial
9、practice. 3.2.2 TvPe I. size 1 stools. The leg braces shall be located a minimum 100 mm and a maximum 180 mm from the floor. 3.2.2 Tvue I, size 2 stools. The top surface of the foot ring shall be located 400 mm to 450 mm below the top surface of the seat. The foot ring shall extend the entire distan
10、ce between the legs. The foot ring shall be in one piece. The ring may be positioned internally or externally relative to the legs 3.2.3 Tvue II, size 1 rotarv stool. The rotary stool seat shall revolve a full 360 degrees. The stool shall provide seat height adjustment Height adjustment shall be pos
11、itive and non-binding and shall hold the seat at a given position until intentionally changed. The adjustment shall be continuous or incremental. 3.2.4 Tvue III. It shall roll freely on casters when un-weighted and shall become stationary as soon as a weight of not more than 40 pounds is pla
13、ced on either step. 3.3 Workmanship. The workmanship shall be of a quality to produce a strong, safe piece of equipment. The stools shall have evenly spaced and level legs and braces, securely welded or riveted joints, smoothness of finish, and all parts shall be free from sharp or hazardous surface
14、s and edges, or other defects that affect appearance or might affect strength or serviceability. 3.4 Identification marking. Unless otherwise specified, each stool shall be marked in a plain, permanent and inconspicuous manner, with the Federal Stock Numbers, the date of manufacture, the manufacture
15、rs name or trademark of such known character that the source of manufacture may be readily determined. 3.5 Performance. Each unit shall be tested in accordance with the manufacturers standard commercial test method. 4. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics
16、 of this commercial item description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5. REGULATORY REQUIREMENT
17、S. The manufacturer is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent possible. 6. PACKAGING. The stools shall be packaged in accordance with the manufacturers standard commercial practice. 7. NOTES 7.1 Orderinp data. Purchasers should select the pre
