4、Replaced “International Truck and Engine Corporation” with “Navistar, Inc.” per corporate directive. 1.0 SCOPE This is a method for determining if an undercoat enamel discolors a subsequent top coat of enamel by bleeding. 2.0 MATERIAL 2.1 Bonderite CD-10 or Bonderite 958 zinc phosphated steel panels

5、 100 x 300 mm (4 x 12 inches), available from Advanced Coatings Technologies, 273 Industrial Drive, Hillsdale, Michigan 49242. 2.2 Masking tape, 75 mm (3 inches) wide 2.3 No. 280 stearated sandpaper 2.4 Xylene, industrial grade 2.5 Tack rag 3.0 PROCEDURE 3.1 Using masking tape as shown in figure at

6、 right, cover the central portion of the panels. 3.2 Prepare the panels according to the procedure specified for the applicable grade in Test Method GT-13, Panel Preparation. 3.3 Scuff (dry sand lightly) all of Area A. Wipe with xylene and then with a tack rag. 3.4 Remove the masking tape from panel

7、s and wipe with a tack rag. 3.5 Spray NAV9219 or white enamel of the same grade under test over the entire panel as described in Panel Preparation for that grade. 3.6 Overbake (double specified oven drying period) or air dry as applicable to the grade being tested. 3.7 Examine overbaked panels immed

8、iately after removal from the oven and air dried panels after they are tack free. Re-examine after 24 hours. Any evidence of color differences between the three sections of the panel will constitute a failure. 4.0 REPORT Report pass or fail.
