4、Notice: Replaced “International Truck and Engine Corporation” with “Navistar, Inc.” per corporate directive. 1.0 SCOPE This is a method for evaluating the intercoat compatibility of repair and service paints sprayed over a topcoat of enamel. 2.0 MATERIAL Bonderite CD-10 or Bonderite 958 zinc phospha
5、ted steel panels, 100 x 150 mm (4 x 6 inches), available from Advanced Coatings Technologies, 273 Industrial Drive, Hillsdale, Michigan 49242. 3.0 PROCEDURE 3.1 Prepare the appropriate quantity and type of panels for the grade of paint being tested according to the procedure specified in Test Method
6、 GT-13, Panel Preparation. Two steel panels - Grades -17, -17HS, -18, -19, -19HS, -53, -53A, and -62 3.2 For grades which are air dried or oven dried at temperatures below 93C (200F), age the prepared panels for an additional 24 hours in air at 21 to 27C (70 to 80F) before testing. For the other gra
7、des, testing will be done immediately upon completion of the panel preparation procedure. 3.3 Following the procedure specified in Test Method GT-13, Panel Preparation, Method J, apply the paint to be tested over the panels from step (2). 3.4 Examine the painted surface immediately and then again af
8、ter they have aged one hour in still air at 21 to 27C (70 to 80F). An evidence of wrinkling, lifting or blistering will constitute a failure of this test. 4.0 REPORT Report pass or fail.
