ITU-R 92-1 1 OPINION ITU-R 92-1* HARMONIZATION OF ACTIVITIES FOR FUTURE MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS (1993-1997) The ITU Radiocommunication Assembly, considering that the Radiocommunication Sector has a program on International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 that major programs for future mobile commun
2、ications within each Region are progressing rapidly; that resources of budget, manpower, and planning expertise are available to these regional programs which that, without international coordination, these regional programs would tend to diverge; that international standards for IMT-2000 will not b
3、e effective unless these regional programs are harmonized; that the production of ITU-R Recommendations on IMT-2000 will be an important step in achieving this 4 (IMT-2000) which would enable worldwide compatibility; b) cl substantially exceed those readily available to the Radiocommunication Sector
4、; d) e) f) harmonization, is of the opinion 1 that the ITU, as a matter of policy, should make every effort to persuade regional bodies, national authorities and other appropriate entities to support the Radiocommunication Sector in an explicit manner in its development of Recommendations on IMT-2000 and strongly encourage regional organizations to work together towards a single worldwide standard. * This Opinion should be brought to the attention of the Telecommunication Standardization Sector.
