2、 Recommendation X.725 (Previously “CCITT Recommendation”) ITU-T RECVNmX.725 95 = 4862591 0613232 399 FOREWORD ITU (International Telecommunication Union) is the United Nations Specialized Agency in the field of telecommunications. The IT Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanen

3、t organ of the ITU. Some 179 member countries, 84 telecom operating entities, 145 scientific and industrial organizations and 38 international organizations participate in ITU-T which is the body which sets world telecommunications standards (Recommendations). The approval of Recommendations by the

4、Members of ITU-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. 1 (Helsinki, 1993). In addition, the World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, approves Recommendations submitted to it and establishes the study programme for the following p

5、eriod. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. The text of ITU-T Recommendation X.725 was approved on 21st of November 1995. The identical text is also published as ISOflEC International

6、 Standard 10165-7. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration” is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized private operating agency. 18、ganization for Standardization) and IEC (the International Electrotechnical Commission) together form the specialized system for world-wide standardization as a whole. National Bodies that are members of IS0 or IEC participate in the development of International Standards through technical committee

19、s established by the respective organisation to deal with particular fields of technical activity. IS0 and IEC technical committees collaborate in fields of mutual interest. Other international organisations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with IS0 and IEC, also participate in the wor

20、k. In the field of information technology, IS0 and LEC have established a joint technical committee, ISO/IEC JTC1. Draft International Standards adopted by the joint technical committee are circulated to national bodies for voting. Publication as an International Standard requires approval by at lea

21、st 75% of the national bodies casting a vote. Internationai Standard ISO/IEC 101657:1995 was prepared by the Joint Technical Committee ISO/IEC JTC1, Information technology, in collaboration with ITU-TS. Summary This Recommendation I International Standard provides a model for the definition, represe

22、ntation and management of relationships between resources and the notational “tools” for specifying these. In addition, the definitions of general management information that may be used in the representation of relationships are specified. Finally guidelines for the development of conformance state

25、loping re-usable specifications for relationships between resources; notational tools for specifying relationships, their representation, and management; definitions of generic management information that may be used in the representation and management of relationships; guidelines for the developme

26、nt of conformance statement proforma; b) c) d) e) example definitions. The general relationship model is specified in clause 7. The notation tools are specified in Annex A. The generic management information is defined in clause 8 and Annex B. The guidelines for the specification of implementation c

27、onformance statement proforma are given in Annexes C and D. An illustration of the representation methods and example definitions are presented in Annex E and Annex F respectively. A commentary on the text is included in Annex G. This Recommendation I International Standard does not provide a mechan

28、ism for the maintenance of consistency between resources that is implied by a relationship. CCITT Rec. X.732 I ISOAEC 10164-3 specifies a model of relationships represented by attributes and a set of generic attributes for representing specific types of relationships. The modelling concepts and spec

29、ification tools defined in this Recommendation I International Standard are applicable to the definition of relationships in general, and hence, are also applicable to relationships represented by attributes as modelled in CCITT Rec. X.732 I ISOEEC 10164-3. 2 Norma tive references The following Reco
