4、 use. 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers lubricants suitable for use both as a factory fill and in service applications for front and rear axles, providing customers with extended drain intervals. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers requirements for physical properties, OEM approvals, quality
5、 control, and shipping and identification requirements. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified,

8、06 4.0 REQUIREMENTS 4.1 General Lubricants purchased to MPAPS B-6821 shall consist of suitably refined synthetic base stocks fortified with additional functional additives as may be necessary to meet the requirements of MPAPS B-6821. 4.1.1 The supplier shall provide suitable evidence of the axle lub
9、ricants having met the requirements of API service category GL-5, the appropriate OEM specification, Arvin Meritor O76-E, Arvin Meritor O76-N, Arvin Meritor O76-S, Dana SHAES 256 Rev C, and Dana SHAES 429 Rev A. In addition, for each axle lubricant submitted, the supplier shall provide acceptable ev
10、idence of field test data indicating 500,000 miles (minimum per vehicle) of satisfactory vehicle performance, without a lubricant change, in representative vehicles over a full range of service conditions. Lubricant viscosity at 100 C (212 F) shall remain in grade during the course of these field te

12、E 2016 Page 2 of 6 4.1.2 Material supplied to this specification shall meet all physical, chemical and performance requirements shown in Table 1 and a written report indicating conformance to Table 1 requirements shall be provided before submitting samples for evaluation. 4.1.3 Material supplied sha
13、ll be suitable for the use intended, be manufactured with good commercial practice, and shall exhibit no objectionable odor. Re-refined base stocks may be used provided that all other property and performance requirements are met. 4.2 Methods Of Test All test designations refer to the latest issue u

Suppliers shall submit samples for a
16、pproval to the Navistar Materials Engineering Group. Samples shall be accompanied by test data certifying that all requirements of the specification have been met. 5.1 Quality Control Plan A Quality Control Plan for products supplied to the requirements of this specification will be established by m
17、utual agreement between NAVISTAR and the supplier. Unless specific exception is noted, the following characteristics, where applicable*, shall be included in the plan as features for management by statistical process control.* * Other characteristics for inclusion in the control plan may be specifie
18、d on the engineering drawing and/or purchase order. * See NAVISTAR Engineering Design Standard A-16 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 re
19、gistration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Corporate Buyer upon re
20、quest. 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in

JUNE 2016 Page 3 of 6 processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify NAVISTAR Materials Engineering and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requir
23、ements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform tests and report results on specific lots o
24、f parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the quality control manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may
25、 determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 7.0 SHIPPING AND HANDLING Shipping and identification shall be in accordance with NAVISTAR Manufacturing Standard MS-D-13. Parts shall be packaged so as to avoid any damage in shipment detrimental to the appearance of the part. 8.0
