2、nse. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification establishes the performance, functional, and test requirements for two configurations of an airborne dual mode tracker for the AN/ASB-l9(V) Angle Rate Bombing Set (ARBS). The Dual Mode Tracker (DMT) will herein be referred to as “the tracker.“ The two conf

3、igurations are differentiated by the following nomenclature: a. for A-4M aircraft AN/ASB-lg(V)l b. for AV-8B aircraft AN/ASB-l9(V)2 Note: - The Signal Data Converter and Heat Exchanger Hose Assemblies differ for A-4M and AV-8B; see 1.2 (a) and (b) below. 1.2 Classification. When specified (see 6.2), the contractor shall furnish sample units(s) for first article inspection and

23、approval. 3.2.1 Parts and Materials. in accordance with the requirements of MIL-A-85055. The tracker shall have the physical characteristics specified herein. 3.3.1.1 Total Weight. The

25、total weight of the tracker, excluding cables, shall be a minimum consistent with good design and shall not exceed 85 pounds. 3.3.1.2 Dimensions. Dimensions of the tracker components shall be in accordance with Drawings 3366021-500, 3366022-500, and 3366030-500, as applicable. 3.3.2 Reliability. The

26、 contractor shall conduct a reliability pro- gram in accordance with MIL-A-85055, except as specified herein. 3.3.2.1 Operational Stability. The tracker shall operate with satis- factory performance, continuously or intermittently for a period of at least 500 hours without the necessity for readjust

27、ment of any controls which are inaccessible to the operator during normal use. 3.3.2.2 Operating Life. The tracker shall have a total operating life of 10,000 hours with reasonable servicing and replacement of parts. Parts requiring scheduled replacement shall be specified by the contractor, and app

28、roved by the procuring activity. / 3.3.2.3 Reliability in Mean-Time-Between-Failure (MTBF). The tracker, including any built-in-test provisions, shall have a specified (eo MTBF of 500 hours and a minimum acceptable (e,) MTBF of 250 hours when tested as specified herein. 3.3.2.4 Time Totalizing Meter

29、. Time totalizing meters shall be included on the tracker to provide an indication of cumulative operating time. The time totalizing meter shall be installed in a location directly visible without requiring removal of any connectors or opening the unit, and be in accordance with MIL-M-7793. The rang

30、e of themeters shall be O to 9,999 hours and they shall not be capable of being reset. 3.3.3 Cabling and Connectors. accordance with MIL-A-85055. The cabling and connectors shall be in 3.3.3.1 Telemetry Capability. A female test connector shall be provided which contains the necessary electrical out

A con- nector cap shall be provided for use when the connector is not used. 3,3.4 Interchangeability. All Weapon Replaceable Assemblies (WRA) and Shop Replaceable Assemblies (SRA) shall be directly and c

33、ompletely interchangeable with respect to installation, performance, and construc- tion as required in MIL-A-85055. Reiterative harmonization adjustments shall not be required after replacement of SRAS, except for mechanical and electrical alignment of gimbal elements and vidicon focussing adjustmen

34、ts required for the Receiver-Processor. 3.3.5 Electromagnetic Compatibility. The tracker shall conform to MIL-A-85055. 3.3.5.1 Static Electricity. The tracker shall conform to the require- ments of MIL-A-85055 for static electricity. 3.3.5.2 Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). The tracker shall con-

35、 form to the requirements of MIL-A-85055 for EMI. 3.3.6 Maintainability Provisions. The Maintainability Program, built-in-test features, construction and packaging, provisions for test points, and other maintainability parameters shall conform to the maintainability requirements of MIL-A-85055. 3.3.

36、6.1 Fault Isolation Test (FIT). The tracker shall include a FIT capability, to be performed at the organizational level of maintenance. The FIT shall isolate 90 percent of tracker failures to the WRA level for replacement of the faulty WRA within the time-to-repair requirement of MIL-A-85055. 3.3.6.

37、2 Boresight Provisions. The tracker shall include provisions for mechanical alignmentlboresighting of Receiver-Processor gimbals and gimbal elements with respect to the reference mounting base. 3.3.7 Nomenclature, Nameplates and Identifications Marking. Nomencla- ture and serial number assignment, n

38、ameplate approval, and identifica- tion marking shall be in accordance with MIL-N-18307. Each SRA designed for normal intermedia

39、te level replacement shall have a permanent serial number. Serial numbers shall be applied at the final assembly of each SRA. In the event a unit is scrapped, the serial number shall not be reused. 3.3.8 Standard Condition. The standard conditions used to establish normal performance characteristics

40、 shall be as specified in MIL-A-85055. 3.3.9 Service Conditions. The tracker, while operating or non- operating, shall withstand the natural and induced environments as specified herein, including all logical adverse combinations, with repeated exposure to conditions having cumulative adverse effect

41、s. 3.3.9.1 Nonoperating Conditions. The tracker shall be capable of withstanding the temperature, humidity, vibration, and shock as shown in Table I without physical damage or subsequent degradation of perform- ance. 3.3.9.2 Operating Temperature-Altitude. The tracker shall meet the performance requ

42、irements of 3.4 and 3.5 when exposed to the temperature- altitude environments shown in Figure 1, as follows: a. The tracker shall be capable of continuous operation at the extreme limits of Figure 1, Curve A, Continuous operation is defined as indefinite operation within the extremes of Curve A. b.

43、 The tracker shall be capable of performing intermittent operations at the extreme limits of Figure 1, Curve B, and at Point 1. Intermittent operation of the tracker is defined as 45 minutes operation (any selected mode) within the limits of Curve A, followed by 12 minutes operation laser spot track

44、er (LST) (scan mode) at the upper temperature limit of Curve B, followed by 6 minutes transient operation at Point 1 (track mode) at 70C (sea level), followed by 12 minutes operation (any mode) at limits of Curve B (sea level). Thermal shutdown of the tracker is allowed while the intermittent high t

45、emperature condition exists. The high temperature recovery period shall not exceed 5 minutes after th,e temperature condition is returned to 45OC. c. The tracker shall be capable of performing intermittent . operations at the extreme high temperature limits of Figure 1, Curve C, without part failure

46、; but performance degradation may occur.
