SCOPE1.1 Scope. This d

2、ocument gives the requirements for the manufacture, assembly, and packaging of theCartridge, Impulse CCU-146/A and the verification methods upon which product acceptance will bebased.2. In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the referencescited herein, the text of this document takes precedence. Nothing in this document, however, supersedesapplicable laws and regulations un

18、less a specific exemption has been obtained.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2) a sample of cartridges shall be subjected to first articleinspection in accordance with 4.1.1.3.2 Serial number. Each cartridge shall be identified with a unique serial number starting at 001 andpr

19、oceeding upward in each lot.3.3 Flight Critical Parts. The cartridge is a flight critical part and shall be identified and procured assuch in accordance with NAVAIRINST 4200.25.3.3.1 Product baseline. The manufacturer shall maintain a complete product baseline list, specifyingeach item used in the c

20、artridge, which shall contain for each item: description, part number, or identifyingnumber, revision letter and material and/or applicable specification. This list and subsequent revisionsshall be submitted for technical review and shall be approved in writing by the Naval Surface WarfareCenter, In

21、dian Head, MD 20640-5035.3.4 Design and construction.3.4.1 General. The cartridge shall be manufactured in accordance with Drawing 30003-MBEU148334-1,meet all requirements listed herein, and shall meet the requirements of MIL-C-83124 at any given time.Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduction or

For the purpose of this specification, the NH Propellant and G40 gunpowderare defined as primary components. Only one lot of each primary component shall be used in a cartridgelot, however one primary component

23、 lot may be used in more than one lot.3.4.3 Gunpowder. Gunpowder used in the cartridge shall meet the requirements of CS 5110 G40.3.4.4 Nitrocellulose. Nitrocellulose used in the cartridge shall meet the requirement of P328 NH-MO-033.3.5 Performance conditions.3.5.1 Visual inspection. Cartridges sha

24、ll have proper identification markings and shall be free of defects.3.5.2 Radiographic examination. The cartridge shall be free of defects or foreign material.3.5.3 Leakage. Each cartridge shall meet the requirements of this section.3.5.3.1 Production installs. All cartridges built for fleet install

25、ation shall exhibit a leakage rate notgreater than 2.6 x 10-6 cm3/s of helium at a pressure differential of 1 0.1 atmosphere.3.5.3.2 Non-Production installs. Each cartridge not built for fleet installation when subjected to lotacceptance testing, design certification and first article testing shall

26、not exhibit a leakage rate greater than1 x 10-5 cm3/s of air at a pressure differential of 1 0.1 atmosphere.3.6 Environmental conditions.3.6.1 Low temperature conditioning. The cartridge shall meet the ballistic conditions of section 3.7when functioned after being stabilized at 65 5 F for a minimum

27、of twelve hours.3.6.2 Normal temperature conditioning. The cartridge shall meet the ballistic conditions of section 3.7when functioned after being stabilized at 70 5 F for a minimum of twelve hours.3.6.3 High temperature conditioning. The cartridge shall meet the ballistic conditions of section 3.7w

28、hen functioned after being stabilized at 200 5 F for a minimum of twelve hours.3.6.4 Six-foot drop. The cartridge shall not initiate or incur any defects or degradation, and shall meet allperformance conditions after being dropped from a height of 6 feet, +3/-0 inches onto a two-inch thicksteel plat

29、e imbedded in concrete. The cartridge shall also meet the ballistic conditions of section 3.7 whenfunctioned.3.6.5 Forty-foot drop. The cartridge shall not initiate or incur any internal/external defects or degradationthat makes the cartridge unsafe for disposal when dropped from a height of 40 feet

30、, +3/-0 inches onto atwo inch thick steel plate imbedded in concrete.3.6.6 Salt fog. The cartridge shall not incur damage or degradation and meet performance conditionswhen subjected to the salt fog test, MIL-STD-810, Method 509.2 for 168 hours. The cartridge shall alsomeet the ballistic conditions

The cartridge shall not have any defects or degradation when exposed to atemperature of 200 5 F for 50 hours. The cartridge shall als

32、o meet the ballistic conditions of section 3.7when functioned.3.6.8 Iced condition. The cartridge shall not incur any defect or degradation when submitted to the icedcondition test and ballistically tested at 80 5 F.3.6.9 Dust. The cartridge shall not incur damage or degradation and shall meet perfo

33、rmance conditionsafter being subjected to the blowing dust (small particle) test, MIL-STD-810, Method 510.3. Thecartridge shall also meet the ballistic conditions of section 3.7 when functioned.3.6.10 Shock. The cartridge shall not fire or incur any defects or degradation as a result of the 20gsawto

34、oth pulse of 11-millisecond duration. The initiator shall meet all performance conditions afterexposure to this test. The cartridge shall also meet the ballistic conditions of section 3.7 when functioned.3.6.11 Temperature-shock/humidity/altitude (TSHA) cycling. The cartridge shall not fire or incur

35、defects or degradation as a result of the 28 day TSHA cycling test and shall meet all performanceconditions. The cartridge shall also meet the ballistic conditions of section 3.7 when functioned.3.6.12 Low temperature exposure. The cartridge shall not fire or incur defects or degradation whenstabili

36、zed at 60 5 F for 72 hours and shall meet all performance conditions. The cartridge shall alsomeet the ballistic conditions of section 3.7 when functioned3.6.13 Vibration. The cartridge shall not fire or incur defects or degradation as a result of the non-gunfireand gunfire profiles and shall meet a

37、ll performance conditions. The cartridge shall also meet the ballisticconditions of section 3.7 when functioned.3.6.14 Cook off. The cartridge shall be tested to determine the highest temperature at which no cartridgecooks off within a one-hour period. Cook-off temperature shall not be less than 225

38、 F.3.6.15 High temperature exposure. The cartridge shall be tested to determine the highest temperature towhich the cartridge may be exposed for a period of 12 hours without affecting ballistic conditions. Thehigh temperature exposure limit determined shall not be less than 200 F.3.7 Ballistic condi

39、tions. The cartridge when ballistically tested in conjunction with the JAU-74/ACartridge Actuated Initiator shall meet the requirements shown in Table I.TABLE I. No cartridge, its subassemblies, or individual part shall fragment, rupture, and failcausing a marginal condition.3.7.2 Misfires. There

There shall be no re-tests3.7.2.2 Test failure. Any cartridge that does not meet performance conditions of paragraphs 3.5 through3.7 during any phase

42、 of inspection shall be considered to have failed.3.7.2.3 Acceptance criteria. Cartridges shall meet the requirements of 3.5 through 3.7. The acceptablenumber of defects is 0 and the reject number is 1.3.8 Insensitive munitions. The cartridge shall be certified as an insensitive munition to external

43、 stimuli.3.9 Explosive hazard classification. The cartridge in its shipping condition shall have a hazardclassification of 1.4 with a compatibility code of “S”.3.10 Workmanship. Cartridges shall be constructed and finished in a manner to assure compliance withall requirements of this specification.

44、Cartridges shall have proper identification markings and shall befree of defects.4. VERIFICATION4.1 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows:a. First article inspection (see 4.1.1)b. Design certification inspection (4.1.2)c. Production ins

45、pection (see 4.1.3)d. Lot acceptance inspection (see 4.1.4)4.1.1 First article inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order a first articlesample of 69 cartridges shall be prepared. This sample manufactured using the same methods andprocedures proposed for the production

46、lot, is for the purpose of determining that the contractor, prior tothe starting production, is capable of producing items, which comply with the technical requirements ofthe contract. Sixty of the cartridges shall be expended in the tests listed in Table II and nine shall beretained as spares/inves

47、tigative purposes. A first article sample acceptable for environmental and ballisticconditions shall be defined as a sample which has met the requirements of Table IV of this specification.The contractor shall deliver the cartridges to the activity designated by the contracting agency for test.First

48、 article acceptance shall consist of the tests shown in Table II in the order specified. Any quantityproduction prior to notification by the contracting agency of the first article sample acceptability shall beat the contractors risk. The first article cartridges will not be applied as a part of the

49、 quantity specified bythe contract.4.1.2 Design certification inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order adesign certification sample of 128 cartridges shall be prepared. This sample manufactured using the samemethods and procedures proposed for the production lot, is for the purpose of determining that themanufacturer, prior to the starting production, complies with the technical requirements of the contract.One hundred and
