REQUIREMENTS 3.1 D

7、escription. Sterilizing Switch MK 1 Mod O shall consist of a stainless steel housing that contains a driver, springloaded contact, and stationary contact. The driver shall be covered by an aluminum foil seal which can be easily pierced by a scrw- driver to operate the switch. Construction of the swi

8、tch shall be such that it may be operated from an initial open circuit position to a locked and closed circuit position. For test purposes, the switch can be operated from closed to open circuit position, through the use of a suitable tool. See-4.4.8.2 . 3.2 General reauirements 3.2.1 Preproduction

9、samples. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or order, preproduction samples of the switch shall be manufactured using the methods and p proposed for production. in Section 4 and is for the purpose of determining, prior to production, that the contractors production methods are capable of yie

10、lding items that comply with the technical requirements of the contract. 11、hed data, Data required by this specification, or by applicable documents referenced in Section 2, need not be furnished unless specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). 3.2.3 Materials. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, requisition, or order, all materials and purchased parts entering

12、 into the final assembly of the sterilizing switch shall conform strictly to the detailed requirements indicated on the drawings and specifications listed in . LD 275922. 3.2.4 Finishes, coatings, construction, and dimensions. Finishes, coating, construction, and dimensions of the ste- . rilizing sw

13、itch shall be strictly in accordance with the applicable drawings, specifications, and publications listed in LD 275922. 3.2.5 Moisture, fungus, and corrosion resistance, The sterilizing switch shall be rendered moisture, fungus corrosion resistant as required by OS 6341 and in acc with detail requi

14、rements specified in the drawings and specifications listed in LD 275922. and parts shall be in accordance with the applicable drawings listed in LD 275922. 3.2.6 Marking. Marking of assemblies, subassemblies, 3.2.7 Interchanpeability. Componentparts of assembled units (unless otherwise specified on

15、 the applicable drawings) fabricated in strict agreement! with their applicable drawings shall be interchangeable and shall assemble with mating components of the unit without election or fitting. If, during assembly of the fabricat d parts of a unit, selection or fitting is required and cha ges in

16、dimensions are necessary, no changes in the parts as delineated on applicable drawings will be made without prior revision and correction of the applicable drawings. See 3.2.9. 3.2.8 Gages. The contractor shall provide himself with whatever gages are necessary and adequate to insure that the materia

17、l to which this specif-lcation applies will meet the dimensional requirements shown on the applicable drawings. If so stipulated in the contract, order, cr requeition, the Government will furnish drawings of pertinent Navy Final Inspection Gages for guidance in the design of the contractors inspecti

18、on gages. 19、quired for the fulfillment of the contract requirements, but is intended to facilitate acceptance of all components and assemblies by Navy Final Inspection Gages. 3.2.9 Conflicting reauirements. Conflicting requirements arising between this specification or any specifications, publications, or drawi

20、ngs listed herein shall be referred in writing to the procuring agency or appointed agent for inter- pretation, clarification, and resolution (or correction), 3.3 Definitions. The environmental requirements of this specification are defined in MIL-T-18404. 3.4 Performance requirements and product ch

21、aracteristics. The sterilizing switch shall meet the following performance requirements and product characteristics: 3.4.1 Fixed contact. The fixed contact assembly sh stand a force of 10 pounds applied along the axis of t from either direction without showing evidence of breaking or cracking of the

22、 plastic or a loosening of the contact. assembly in place, it shall resist, without movement within the housing, a torque of 5 inch-pounds applied to the axially parallel bores formed in the plastic portion of the contact assembly. 3.4.2 Contact assembly securement. The sterilizing switch shall have an operating life of not less than 100 cycles as defined in 4.4.8.1. 3.5 Environmental requirements. The sterilizing switch shall meet the other applicable requirements of this specification aft

28、er or while being subjected to environmen- tal conditions defined below, when tested as specified in Section 4. 3.5.1 Vibration 3.5.1.1 Vibration: transDortation, storage, and handlinq, The sterilizing switch, packed and packaged as defined in- Section 5 and mounted rigidly on a vibration device as

29、specified in 4.4.1.1, shall withstand the vibrations for the time and at the temperatures to which a nonoperating, ready nonoperating, or ready torpedo is exposed, as specifie in MIL-T-18404, Thereafter, the switch shall show no damage and shall meet all the performance requirements and product char

The sterilizing switch, less pack or packaging and rigidly self-mounted on a vibration device as specified in 4*4,1.2, shall withstand the vibrations for the time and at the temperatures to which a nonoper

34、dling, The sterilizing switch, packed and packaged as defined in Se 5 and mounted rigidly on a shock testing device as speci in 4.4.2.1, shall be subjected to the shock requirements a torpedo nonoperating, ready nonbperating or ready (transpor- tation), as specified in MIL-T-18404. Thereafter, the s

35、witch shall show no damage and shall meet all the Performance requirements and product characteristics of this spec 3.5.2.2 Shock, operating condition, The sterilizing switch, self-mounted on a shock testing device as specified in 4,4.2,2, shall be subjected to the shock requirements for a torpedo r

36、eady or operating, air-borne launching with external aftach- ments, as specified in MIL-T-18404. Thereafter, the. switch shall show no damage and shall meet all the performance requirements and product characteristics of this specification, 3.5.3 Acceleration. The sterilizing switch, mounted securel

37、y on an acceleration device as specified in 4.4.3, shall be subjected to the acceleration requirements for a torpedo ready nonoperating, ready, or operating, as specified in MIL-T-18404. Thereafter, the sterilizing switch shall show no damage and shall meet all performance requirements and product c

38、haracteristics of this specification. 3.5.4 Temperature and humidity ,. 3.5.4.1 Transportation and storage condition, The sterilizin switch, packaged and packed as defined in Section 5, .shall be., subjected to the temperature and humidity conditions pn 4.4.4.1 and thereafter, shall show no corrosio

39、n or and shall meet all the performance requirements and product characteristics of this specification. 3.5.4.2 Hivh and low temperature %:ration. The sterilizing switch, less packaging and packing and mbunted as specified in 4.4.4.2, shall be subjected to the.high bqn low temperature conditions spe

40、cified in 4.4.4.2, At the concluq4on of the test, and while still at.the test temperature, the sterilizing switch shall show no corrosion or damgge and shall meet all the performance requirements and product characteristics of this specification. 3.5.5 Pressure I- 3.5.5.1 Altitude. The sterilizing s

The following items of test equipment are required to perform the acceptance tests set forth in this specification: 4.5.3.1 A means for exerting a force of 10 pounds. 4.5.3.2 A suitable torque-

44、indicating instrument capable of measuring torques up to 5 inch-pounds. 4.5.3.3 An ohmmeter capable of measuring resistances in the order of 0.1 ohm. 4.5.3.4 A megohmmeter with an integral source of 500 A rubber tipped tool or pointer capable of volts dc and a midscale reading in the order of 10 meg

The acceptance tests shall be performed in accordance with the following procedures: 4.5.4.1 Fixed contact test (M102). Before assembling the fixed contact in the housing, apply a force of 10 pounds (4.5.3.1) al

After the contact assembly is staked within the housing during the assembly of the sterilizing switch, apply a 5 inch-pound torque (4.5.3.2) through the axially parallel bores in the plastic base. The contact assembly shall meet the requirements of 3.4.2. 4.5.4.3 Operating torque test

48、(M104). This test is performed on the sterilizing switch before the foil seal is secured in place. to 5 inch-ounces to the driver in either direction. The driver shall not rotate to the switch closed position, Then increase the applied torque. The driver shall rotate to the switch closed position wi

49、th an applied torque greater than 5 inch- ounces, Then apply a torque that is 2 inch-ounces more than is required to rotate the switch to the closed position. The driver shall not rotate to the switch open position. For test purposes the switch may be operated from closed to open circuit position by inserting a suitable tool through the holes in the contact assembly to lift the moving contact piece sufficiently to be rotated
