1、 Tentative Interim Amendment NFPA1901 Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus 2016 Edition Reference: 16.13.4.2 TIA 16-1 (SC 16-8-18 / TIA Log #1228) Pursuant to Section 5 of the NFPA Regulations Governing the Development of NFPA Standards, the National Fire Protection Association has issued the foll

2、owing Tentative Interim Amendment to NFPA 1901, Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus, 2016 edition. The TIA was processed by the Technical Committee on Fire Department Apparatus, and was issued by the Standards Council on August 4, 2016, with an effective date of August 24, 2016. A Tentative Inter

3、im Amendment is tentative because it has not been processed through the entire standards-making procedures. It is interim because it is effective only between editions of the standard. A TIA automatically becomes a public input of the proponent for the next edition of the standard; as such, it then

4、is subject to all of the procedures of the standards-making process. 1. Delete current (5) from paragraph 16.13.4.2 and renumber the subsequent list items to read as follows: 16.13.4.2 If the pumping system is rated at 3000 gpm (12,000L/min) or greater, the pressure control system on the pump shall

5、be tested as follows: (1) The pump shall be operated at draft, delivering rated capacity at a discharge gauge pressure of 100 psi (700 kPa). (2) The pressure control system shall be set in accordance with the manufacturers instructions to maintain the discharge gauge pressure at 100 psi (700 kPa) 5

6、percent. (3) All discharge valves shall be closed not more rapidly than in 3 seconds and not more slowly than in 10 seconds. (4) The rise in discharge pressure shall not exceed 30 psi (200 kPa) and shall be recorded. (5) The pump shall be operated at draft, pumping 50 percent of rated capacity at a

7、discharge gauge pressure of 200 psi (1400 kPa). (6) The pressure control system shall be set in accordance with the manufacturers instructions to maintain the discharge gauge pressure at 200 psi (1400 kPa) 5 percent. (7) All discharge valves shall be closed not more rapidly than in 3 seconds and not

8、 more slowly than in 10 seconds. (8) The rise in discharge pressure shall not exceed 30 psi (200 kPa) and shall be recorded.
