2、 data products received from the Wallops and Alaska ADEOS-II Data Processing Systems. Gaps in the SeaWinds product were characterized by JPL to be intermittent in nature, of variable size, and located at irregular intervals in the data products. Reprocessing of the raw data by NASDA yielded 100% dat
3、a recovery. Thus, while there was 100% data capture, data gaps were introduced by the DS resulting in approximately 8% data loss in the Level 0 product (i.e. 8 out of every 100 minutes of data was not included in the Level 0 product). These gaps were undetected at the processing station until report
4、ed by JPL and NASDA.Lesson(s) Learned: Include adequate and useable Data Accounting capability, reports, and tools during requirements definition and system development.Recommendation(s): Tiger Team experience has shown that data accounting is often streamlined or eliminated from system requirements
5、 as a result of schedule and budget pressures. While it is not known whether the early ADEOS-II requirements were reduced in the same way, the result is the same: Customer feedback is required to identify issues with data product quality. The requirements and operations concept should identify how d
6、ata accounting will be performed, both procedurally and automatically, and system capabilities built to meet those requirements and concepts. There were no data analysis tools available to perform data analysis. The Tiger Team requested EDOS support personnel to generate utilities that were used for
