5、ed Virgin Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) Moldings or Extrusions RATIONALE This document addresses the specific properties of 10% polyimide filled virgin polytetrafluoroethylene. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) resin filled with 10% polyimide in the form o

6、f extruded or molded rods or tubes which are sintered after molding or, in the case of extrusions, sintered during the extrusion process. 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for seal components in both static and dynamic applications requiring excellent wear resistance and dimens

7、ional stability up to 450 F (232 C), but usage is not limited to such applications. Each application should be considered individually. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS See AMS3678. 3. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Basic Specification The complete requirements for procuring the products described herein shall c

8、onsist of this document and the latest issue of the basic specification, AMS3678. 9、r extruded from virgin polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) powder conforming to ASTM D 4894, Type II, Type III or Type IV, uniformly blended with the specified fillers. The blended powder shall consist of 10% 2% polyimide and the remainder virgin PTFE powder, filler percentage measured by weight. 3.2.1 F

10、illers 3.2.1.1 Polyimide It is recommended that the polyimide should be aromatic, uniform in size and non melting. 3.3 Properties The product shall conform to the requirements shown in Table 1.
